With tears flooding her eyes, Zara packed her laptop and some files, storming out of the office. She almost bumped into Nadia, who was coming in search of her, but didn't stop.
"Zara! Where are you going?" Nadia called, her voice full of worry. "We need to figure this out and clear your name."
Zara paused for a second but didn't turn back. "Nadia, my head is spinning. I just need to rest. Please."
Then she walked off without another word.
Nadia didn't push any further. She knew Zara needed the space. Maybe rest would help her think clearly.
But the moment Zara stepped outside the lobby doors, a wall of reporters rushed toward her. Cameras flashed wildly, their microphones shoved into her face.
"Ms. Quinn, is it true you bullied a rising architect and stole her work?"
Zara blinked in disbelief. "What? No!"
But they didn't stop.
"Is it true you had an affair with Mr. Carter and the spokesman to win the auction?"
