Evelina's face suddenly turned ugly, realizing that her daughter had said those things just to lead her into saying that.
"It's been over three months already, those people... how would they even remember!" she said.
"It's fine, even if they don't remember, the restaurant must have surveillance, which would have captured the scene," Mabel Quinn said.
"That restaurant doesn't have surveillance!" Evelina quickly said.
"Nowadays even regular restaurants have surveillance, let alone a place where rich people dine; it must have some standards. Or are you suggesting the place I dined at is a street stall?"
At this point, Evelina had no idea what to say, and those around them also sensed what was going on. It turned out this mother was utterly making things up, just to falsely accuse her daughter of inappropriate behavior!
It was simply unbelievable!
Some people present cast sympathetic glances at Mabel Quinn, thinking it must be really tough having a mom like that!
