Chapter Two : The Hour Before Darknes :
Malachi's POV :
Work was over finally. I stepped outside, the cool evening air hitting my
tired face as I hurried down the sidewalk. Less than an hour. That's all the
time I had left before the demon inside of me :Erevos took control. I
needed to get home. Fast.Now !
But he was already in my mind.
Before an hour of the transformation he can communicate with that was the
deal !
« Are you afraid I'll hurt your little friends ? » Erevos's
voice slithered through my head, smooth and mocking. « What was that cute
girl's name again ? Oh… Ivy ? »
A surge of anger burned in my chest. « Shut up, Erevos ! Don't you
dare touch them you will regret ! »
I had shouted it out loud.very loud !
A sudden hush fell over the street. People from work had stopped and were
staring at me. Whispering.
Damn it. I forgot I was in public.That Bastard !
My hands clenched into fists as I forced myself to breathe. Stay calm. Act
normal. But before I could move, I heard footsteps approaching.
Finn and Ivy.
They must have just walked out of the building, only now catching up to me.
Finn raised an eyebrow. "Dude… you good your face is pale ?"
Ivy crossed her arms, clearly unimpressed. « Want to eat with us Malachi
it's a pizza restaurant tonight you love pizza do you ? »
« Accept this time, just once,please » Ivy added, her voice
softer. Her big brown eyes locked onto mine, hopeful. Too hopeful.
She was cute—too cute even—and I hated that. Because for a second, I
actually wanted to say yes.
Erevos chuckled darkly in my mind. « Yes, Malachi… go with them. They
look delicious it will be an easy hunt tonight. »
« No Never ! » I snapped.
It was meant for Erevos. But to Ivy, it must have looked like I was
rejecting her way too aggressively.
Her face darkened. "Okay, geez. You could've just said no like a normal
person why you scream in me ."
She turned on her heel and stormed off.
Finn gave me a disappointed look before sighing. "Man… what was that ?
We were just inviting you to eat she was just being kind ." He shook his head.
"Whatever, I'll talk to her to calm down , See you tomorrow."
He ran after Ivy, leaving me standing alone on the sidewalk.
Frozen.
Erevos's voice was a whisper against my skull now. « Forget about them,
Malachi. You should be thinking about me. I take control in just a few
minutes. »
