Arabella wasn't done articulating her question that a knock landed on the door, though Silas waited for no permission and allowed himself inside after that.
The two women leapt to their feet and greeted him again. Neither of them dared look him in the eyes, keeping their gazes down even when he'd spoken.
"Take your leave," he uttered dryly.
As per her custom, the maid offered an apologetic look towards Arabella before speeding off, but that time around, the young woman called out for her.
"Ada, wait please!" Arabella picked the "Golden lines" tome that she'd brought from the library then rushed towards Ada, "Don't forget this,"
The maid accepted it under Silas' harsh glare, very sheepish and hesitant as though expecting him to object. The vampire never did and merely watched each of their motions until Ada had scampered out, making sure to shut the door behind herself.
