Gia's POV
"I'm going to pee." I announced.
Dominic looked at me like I'd just confessed to a murder.
"What, you fuck me but can't comprehend me peeing" he just rolled his eyes at me.
"Here?"
I rolled my eyes. "Yes, here. We're on a mountain, unless you stashed a bathroom behind that bush over there?"
He sighed like a martyr. "Okay, but don't wander too far. And watch your step." I will wait for you outside the bush. Or you want me to follow you?"
"No!" I shouted at him.
I gave him a sarcastic salute and trudged off into the trees, my boots crunching against loose gravel and pine needles. The trail dipped slightly, but I found a semi-secluded spot near the edge—not too far, not too close. The wind was picking up now, sharp and chilly against my exposed skin. My stomach twisted sensing something lurking but I brushed it off as my imagination and just focused on my pee
I was adjusting my jacket when it happened.
A sound. A whisper of movement behind me.
