Chapter 83 - Nearly 2 Million Tons!!! (Bonus)

— — — — — —

Telekinesis!

At its core, this was the ability he'd gained from the T-Virus. But ever since it had been officially registered as a proper "Skill Trait" in the system, its growth had reached a point where anyone would have to admit—it was downright terrifying.

Let's break it down:

At Lv.1, his total telekinetic strength was 1 ton.

When he first awakened it, that's where it all began.

After that, every level up added 1 ton—Lv.2 gave 2 tons, Lv.3 gave 3 tons... one ton at a time. Totally reasonable.

But then things started to get ridiculous.

Starting from Lv.10, the growth curve for Telekinesis went completely off the rails.

At Lv.10, like other Skill Traits, Telekinesis gained its first special modifier: ["Telekinesis Power +1."]

That single point of power doubled his total telekinetic strength.

Normally, going from Lv.9 to Lv.10 would increase the total from 9 tons to 10 tons. But with that new modifier, it became: 10 × 2 = 20 tons.

And it didn't stop there.

Veyron had already discovered this rule back when he was leveling up his first skill, Basic Swordsmanship: Every 10 levels forms a tier.

There are two reasons behind this:

-Every 10 levels, you get a new power-boosting modifier.

-After reaching the next tier, the required XP to level up increases drastically—though still following the same pattern, just multiplied by an extra factor.

For example: To go from Lv.9 to Lv.10, you need 9 × 100 = 900 XP.

But Lv.10 to Lv.11? That jumps to 10 × 100 × 10 = 10,000 XP.

So yeah, the XP requirements skyrocket—but the rewards skyrocket even more.

Back when he was leveling up things like Basic Swordsmanship, he couldn't really feel the difference because of limitations in perception and sensitivity.

But with Telekinesis—a skill that's extremely precise even at a microscopic level—the gains were crystal clear.

At Lv.10, with that +1 Power boost, his total force was 20 tons.

When he hit Lv.11? Total force became 11 × 2 × 10 = 220 tons.

Yep, you read that right.

Once you complete a 10-level tier and get that special boost, the next tier's growth multiplies by 10.

So as his level went up, even Veyron himself started to get a little stunned by the numbers.

By Lv.20, with the "Telekinesis Power +2" buff kicking in, his strength doubled again—twice. So instead of just 20 × 2 = 40, it got even wilder:

From Lv.19's 19 × 2 × 10 = 380 tons, he jumped to Lv.20: 20 × 2 × 10 × 2 × 2 = 1,600 tons.

Then Lv.21?21 × 2 × 10 × 2 × 2 × 10 = 16,800 tons.

Now at Lv.30, with the "Telekinesis Power +3" stacked on, it got pushed again—tripling the multiplier this time.That brings the total to:30 × 2 × 10 × 2 × 2 × 10 × 2 × 2 × 2 = 192,000 tons!

If it weren't for the fact that leveling from Lv.30 to Lv.31 now required a whopping 3,000,000 XP—he probably would've kept going.

But still, nearly 200,000 tons of pure telekinetic force, and with his precision control of Gene Lock boosting every ounce of that strength?

Yeah. That's enough to deal with someone like Yakumo Yukari.

...Probably.

But then again…Would one more level really hurt?

[Telekinesis (Lv.30)] XP full — Ready to level up.[Telekinesis (Lv.30)] has been upgraded to [Telekinesis (Lv.31)]

And just like that, right before setting off to confront Yukari, Veyron leveled it up one more time.

Now? His base telekinetic strength was sitting at a ridiculous 1,984,000 tons. Nearly 2 million tons.

With that kind of power, he could toss around 198 Eiffel Towers like they were paperweights. Or, if he was feeling fancy, he could lift an actual pyramid—like the smallest one at Giza, the Pyramid of Menkaure, which only weighs around 235,000 tons.

The other two pyramids? One clocks in at 5 million tons, and the biggest of the bunch—the Great Pyramid of Khufu—sits at a staggering 6 million.

"I honestly thought this whole thing had been swept under the rug because of that Flower Master of the Four Seasons."

That was Kaguya, raising an eyebrow after hearing what he was planning.

"Yuuka is Yuuka. Yukari is Yukari. What does Yuuka have to do with my beef with Yukari?" Veyron scoffed.

"She couldn't even be bothered to come out of her little gap and apologize!"

"Well," Kaguya said with a smirk, "if she did apologize, would you actually forgive her?"

"Of course not."

Veyron shook his head without hesitation. "With how weak I was back then compared to her? If she'd really gone through with whatever she had in mind, maybe she wouldn't have killed me, sure—but I'd definitely have been messed up. If I don't pay her back for that 'mess,' then I took that risk for nothing, didn't I?"

"Then I'll wish you the best of luck on your righteous crusade~" Kaguya said with a cheeky smile.

Veyron nodded and left her room.

After a brief pause in the corridor, he changed course and detoured to the pocket dimension to find Eirin. There, he asked her to prepare two vials of a custom T-Virus blend capable of unlocking the gene lock.

---

An hour later—

Veyron stepped into the courtyard and called out, "Inukimi!"

A gust of wind swept through. A large silver-white fox-dog with rabbits dangling from its mouth landed in front of him.

"Still not done catching them?"

Looking at her disheveled state, Veyron raised an eyebrow.

"They're endless," Inukimi muttered, letting the rabbits drop to the ground. Before they could scatter, she pinned them with a casual paw.

"I'm telling you, don't be fooled just because these rabbits don't give off any yokai energy—something's definitely off about them.

"I personally cleared the entire bamboo forest the day before. Not a single rabbit left. But by the next morning, they'd somehow respawned! I don't even know where they're coming from.

"If it weren't for her instructions to deliver the rabbits alive for her experiments, I would've already chewed these little pests up like snacks!"

"Uh... If it's that bad, just take a break from rabbit-hunting."

As he spoke, Veyron casually snapped off a bamboo stalk with telekinesis and wove it into a cage as he walked. After boxing up the rabbits and dropping them off at Eirin's door, he turned to Inukimi.

"Come with me. I'm heading out."

Inukimi suddenly narrowed her eyes, ears twitching with suspicion. "You can fly now, right? And faster than me, too."

"Don't tell me… you actually plan to ride me again?"

"C'mon, would I do that to you?"

Veyron gave a dry cough and patted the soft white fur on her back. "You know me. I've always thought of you as a friend."

…Damn, the fur feels even better than last time.

"…This is the last time!" Inukimi huffed, then let out a breath and shifted into her full beast form—towering over ten meters tall, her majestic yokai body on full display.

"You hit the limit, huh?" Veyron said, sensing the density of her power and physical condition.

"Yeah. I've pretty much maxed out everything my race can pull off in the High yokai stage. All that's left now is to stabilize before pushing for the next level…"

Her voice trailed off, a flicker of excitement lighting up her eyes.

She had reached this point way faster than she ever imagined. Honestly, when she first left her homeland, she hadn't been confident she'd get this strong.

Part of it was thanks to Veyron constantly feeding her high-quality, blood-rich meat that was ridiculously easy to absorb.

The other part? Whenever she delivered rabbits to Eirin, the doctor would occasionally toss her a strange but highly effective potion. Inukimi didn't even know what was in them, but they worked.

And that's exactly why—even though she was 90% sure Veyron was treating her like a personal mount—she still transformed and let him ride.

Just like that shrine maiden said back when Inukimi first met Veyron:

"For a human, living a hundred years is rare and remarkable. But for High yokai or great demons, a century is just another passing memory. Not short, not long—just… a moment."

Worst case? She'd let him ride for a hundred years. Once he died of old age, she'd be on her way.

A hundred years of companionship in exchange for a near-certain chance at evolving into a great yokai…

If news like that got out, every yokai and demon in the region would flatten the entire bamboo forest to get in line.

Veyron didn't even need to read her mind. Her surface-level emotions were practically leaking into the air—and he caught the drift loud and clear.

"…Guess it was worth prepping an extra vial of the gene lock serum just for you."
