The disciple's cursor technique and the strength of the attacks were divided into different levels, but the exact details still needed to be confirmed through testing.
A Wasteland Testing Ground
A barrier had been set up a hundred kilometers away to prevent any intelligence leaks.
Shikaku stood atop a high vantage point, scanning the vast landscape that stretched for dozens of kilometers.
Beside him stood Tsunade, Raikage, and others, including Yamanaka Inoichi.
The ninjas responsible for placing the beacon were already in position.
Inoichi, in charge of communication, glanced at Shikaku.
"The beacon is set," he reported.
Shikaku nodded. "Activate it."
Inoichi immediately sent the command.
A moment later, a beam of light shot up from the distance, piercing through the clouds.
Once the beacon was deployed, Inoichi relayed the next order: "Evacuate to a safe distance—one kilometer away."
After confirming the evacuation, Inoichi turned to Shikaku. "We're ready to begin."
Shikaku looked over at Sakiya.
The girl lifted her chin, grinning.
"Hmm~"
"Finally! You need my Eye of Death, huh?"
Sakiya raised her hands and began chanting.
"Red Lotus Hell! A world of ashes! From the infinite abyss, the afterglow of death rises! Let the world wail, for all shall perish!"
As she chanted, layers of glowing symbols formed around her body. A second beam of light shot skyward, stirring a fierce gust of wind.
Shikaku shielded his face from the wind and called out, "Sakiya! Keep the power low! We're testing accuracy first!"
But Sakiya continued, her voice growing louder.
"The fading light that ends all things…
Come forth!
The Eye of Death will claim its prey!"
She thrust her hands forward.
Immediately, blue chakra particles floating around her accelerated, converging into a concentrated beam that shot into the sky, piercing through the clouds.
Then, high above the beacon's location, the sky flared—the clouds glowing as if a sun had ignited within them.
A moment later, the clouds split apart, and a massive beam of energy descended straight onto the beacon's position.
The impact was instantaneous.
A blinding flash erupted as the energy struck the ground. The column of light, several meters thick, drilled deep into the earth. The resulting shockwave only spread for a few dozen meters, focusing its destruction downward.
The beam lasted for a few seconds before gradually fading.
Shikaku, watching from a distance, exhaled in relief.
It seemed Sakiya had actually listened to him.
The test team moved in to assess the site while Inoichi used his communication jutsu to share a live feed of the results.
A deep, pitch-black crater now sat where the beacon had been. The hole was tens of meters wide, but only around 20 to 30 meters deep.
Shikaku analyzed the results.
"A precise, high-penetration attack… more suited for targeting heavily armored enemies rather than wide-scale destruction."
Sakiya, meanwhile, struck a victory pose, flashing a peace sign as she admired the abyss she'd created.
"Sink beneath my power!" she declared dramatically.
Shikaku, unfazed, deadpanned, "Yes, yes, the ground has definitely fallen into it."
Then he turned back to her with a more serious question.
"Could that technique be made stronger?"
Sakiya lowered her hands and nodded enthusiastically. "Of course! That wasn't even one percent of my full power!"
Shikaku raised an eyebrow. "And at full power, how big would that beam be?"
Sakiya thought for a moment. "Hmm… Well, my Death and Withering Light at full strength would probably cover this entire area."
To illustrate, she spread her arms as wide as possible—like she was hugging a giant watermelon.
Shikaku sighed.
It was an abstract explanation, but he got the message.
If the beam had been at full power, they might have been standing in the blast zone.
Shikaku stood in silence, deep in thought.
The scene he had just witnessed was beyond anything he had imagined—utterly overwhelming.
Is this girl really not exaggerating?
If she wasn't lying… then what kind of power was this?
He took a breath and started asking questions for the next round of testing.
"Can you skip the chant? In an emergency, would you be able to release the technique instantly? What happens if you fire multiple shots in a row?"
"And what about distance? This attack was a focused strike, but do you have a version for area-wide saturation?"
Each answer shattered his expectations.
Distance...
There was no known maximum range yet.
Even when a beacon was placed 200 kilometers away—completely out of sight—Sakiya still hit it perfectly on target.
Continuous Fire...
Shikaku ordered beacons to be placed at 30 different locations.
When Sakiya activated her magic circles, 30 beams fired simultaneously, each one precisely hitting its mark.
Next, he requested that she fire them one after another, instead of all at once.
She complied—launching dozens of consecutive strikes without missing a single shot.
Area-of-Effect Attack...
Then came the final test.
Sakiya raised her hands, and a miniature sun ignited above her, shooting straight into the sky.
It tore through the clouds before plummeting downward, directly onto the beacon's location.
The impact was instantaneous.
A fireball the size of a mountain erupted, expanding into a massive mushroom cloud. The explosion's shockwave flattened everything in a dozen-kilometer radius, while the central blast zone spanned at least 20 kilometers.
The sheer scale of destruction dwarfed even a Tailed Beast Bomb.
Shikaku exhaled, watching the distant inferno.
This… is beyond terrifying.
But he was satisfied with the results.
Then, just out of curiosity, he casually asked:
"Hey, Sakiya… can you make it even stronger?"
Sakiya tilted her head, pressing a finger to her temple, deep in thought.
After a moment, she gave an embarrassed smile.
"Hmm... about that technique... sorry."
Shikaku chuckled. "No need to apologize. What you've already shown is more than enough."
Sakiya hesitated, then casually added, "Well… if I really wanted to, I could increase the power by about a hundred times."
Shikaku's smile froze.
Did she just say… a hundred times?
Sakiya let out a small sigh.
"Yeah, but honestly, a hundred times isn't that much. Still, it wouldn't be good to push it too far."
Then she muttered, almost to herself—
"I'd get tired…"
Tired…
Tired…
Tired…
The words echoed in Shikaku's mind, leaving him utterly blank.
Tired? That's the reason?
He began questioning everything.
So that devastating attack was just her holding back?
Did he need to redefine tired as a concept?
---
One Day Later...
The testing was complete.
Shikaku should've been relieved, but instead, he was stuck in a daze.
He kept thinking back to one question—
How in the world does Sakiya have this much power?
Could it be… that being overly imaginative actually made someone stronger?
Was it possible that not having enough delusions was holding him back?
Did taking things too seriously limit chakra potential?
Could it be…
Shikaku shook off the absurd thought and went to report the results to Tsunade and Raikage.
They had other responsibilities and couldn't watch the entire test, so he needed to summarize the findings.
But the moment he walked in, before even giving a full report, he simply said—
"I have a plan."
Tsunade and Raikage both froze.
Shikaku continued, his voice calm but certain.
"I think we should locate the enemy's base, throw a beacon inside, and let Sakiya fire her technique directly at it."
"This war could be over in an instant."
Tsunade and Raikage stared at him, completely stunned.
"...What?"
