Chapter 2 - One on One talk

The atmosphere in the room was tense. The giant room, which could almost be described as a building, was exerting pressure on me, making me feel small. The way the room was designed was too pressuring for the place I'm sitting at, being a small cubicle with no ceiling, and the ceiling itself was meters high above.

Not only that, my professor who just said something scary to me a while ago is now just sitting on the couch, legs crossed, while sipping a cup of tea.

"You know, even though time has passed, tea and other beverages maintained their original feel due to the fact of their effects on human beings. Tea in itself makes people calm and relaxed. That's why-"

As the professor said, the table that was separating the two of us then opened, and a fresh cup of tea appeared.

"Stay calm and relax, Glaen."

Hearing that, I naturally gulped. It felt too threatening that it's making me scared that I couldn't stay calm at all.

"Let's cut to the chase." A hologram then appeared in the middle of the room just above the table. And, in that hologram was a person wearing some gear and fighting some monsters. "That's you, isn't it, Glaen? The one with the big gun."

Seeing that I felt tense. How did they find out about it? Where did this video even come from? How could they even tell that it was me? A lot of questions came into my mind, anyhow I managed to maintain a poker face.

For now, let's streamline my thoughts. First off, I had my face covered with a helmet there, so surely this is just an assumption. Second, I rode an unregistered aircraft, meaning there is no registry of my name flying to another planet. Lastly, I did this after school, so going through a teleporter is just natural.

So...

"Haha, Professor Erod, that is not me at all~ Why would I even be on another planet than this academy one~ You're surely mistaken!"

"Minus points due to lying."

"WHAT!!! How could you even say that I was lying, Professor! There is no proof that that person is me whatsoever!"

"A person who is lying would always ask about any proof. In fact, the reason that I knew it was you in the first place was because... I was the one who followed you."

Hearing that, I just froze in place.

"EH? That's just unfair, Professor... You were a former high-ranking informant after all. Why would you even go through such lengths..." I said as I lay my back on the couch

"I'm sorry for that, Glaen. I was simply worried for your future, and..."

"And?"

"Someone asked me to do so." The professor said with his arm on his knees and his eyes looking apologetic.

"Is it Her Highness, huh?"

The professor then nodded.

"Figured." My thoughts and voice went out at the same time.

"Please don't hate Student Sairrah for this, she told me that she was just worried for you and... after what happened to your both's hometown... I simply couldn't say no to her." The professor said, looking down in despair.

"It is fine, Professor. Since you knew of this, I can assume that Professor Limeh knew of this as well?"

"Yes, that is correct, Student Sairrah told me to tell Professor Limeh after all."

I put my hand on my face and let my face hang on the back of the couch.

"SIGH~ Those two should just mind their own business and get married already."

"Were those rumors really true? That Professor Limeh and Student Sairrah in a relationship?" Professor Erod asked with curious eyes.

"Yeah, it is true. It's not something that happened recently either, they had been in a relationship right before the fall of the Countdom a year ago." I said as I let go of my body and accepted the cup of tea.

I still remember the time when Her Highness Sairrah and Noble knight Limeh met. When Limeh carried the crying Sairrah with his arms, they both blushed at each other... And I watched it from afar

AUGH yucks, it makes me want to puke! Every time I remember that memory, I just feel chills down my body.

"Anyways! There is no punishment for me, right? What would you do with the information you have right now?"

"Well... The higher-ups did tell me to find an explanation. So, just give me one."

"It's easy, just tell them that I just want some extra money and that I want to buy something," I said with a shrug

"You know... Being a ruin hunter isn't really registered as a part-time job allowed by the school."

"Then tell them that I already quit!"

"But, did you quit, though? If not, are you quitting?"

"HAHAHA NOPE"

"Then there's no point in me saying that are we now!!!" Professor Erod said while slamming the table, "How about this, I'll tell them that 'you' would register as an official hunter. As per the school's rule, you would need an advisor who is well-versed in vigor."

"Why do I feel like I would hate this..." I whispered to myself

"So I suggest, Professor Limeh!"

"NOPE"

"WHY NOT!!!"

"Nope, just not Limmeh and his Hero wannabe ahh," I said with my arms forming an X.

"Then there's nothing I could do here for you then." Professor Erod said while looking down and being gloomy. "Unless..."

"Unless what?"

"You could take the scholarship that I mentioned before," Professor Erod said with a grin.

"'That' huh," I said, feeling annoyed.

"If you take that scholarship, you would have certain privileges, you know, and one of those privileges is being able to do any job without being tied to the school's rules. I mean, why are YOU even part of the Physical and Fighting department with that brain of yours?!"

"..."

That scholarship, huh. As much as I would love to take that scholarship, I just can't leave her highness alone in the department. Especially with what happened a year ago, the fall of the Liathan System. Her highness very own country, the one that her highness' father ruled.

The Academy System, a group of planets and star systems gathered under the name of education, which is weird. The school itself has a weird system. Especially since a year here is so short, the process of education is also short.

That is why, to get to the next 'year' of class, I would still need to go through the Letter Levels. Each level unlocks a group of subjects. Those who just attended will start with D class, and to reach the 2nd year status, one must need to complete the S class.

As of now, I am currently 1st year A class, while Her Highness is 3rd year D class. Although she used to be a 3rd year A class, she had to fall back to D because of the fall of the Liathan System. She had to take new subjects that were not taught to nobles.

Because of this, she was bullied, and the one who protected her behind the scenes was me, her one and only remaining retainer.

However, now that Limeh is a professor of the Physical and Fighting Department. Maybe it is just right to leave her behind and proceed to my own growth.

The scholarship of the Logistics and Strategy department, huh... I have to choose what to major though, oh well.

"Professor Erod, I have decided," I said while sitting up right, " I will accept the scholarship for the LS department."

"That is great!!!" Professor Erod said with glowing eyes, "Let's decide what major and-"

BANG! The door of the cubicle was opened

"Excuse me, Professor Erod, is Glaen here?"

"Limeh..."
