Chapter 66 - Death of a Ruler Pt. 1

"How in the world did you spot that?" (Mark)

Mark hissed those words under his breath, trying to talk as quietly as he could to Anna. She knew he was only curious, but curiosity would have to be held off.

"I'll explain later, we need to kill both of those monsters, but the one that is attached to the one creating the other monsters first. From what I understand so far, it is the one controlling the other monsters. I'd rather not deal with a horde of monsters attacking us because we didn't kill the one controlling the others." (Anna)

She muttered some of what she said out loud to herself, but she was speaking as quietly as she could while still allowing the others to hear her.

"Then maybe we could try to snipe it then?" (Greyson)

"Oh yeah, you have a rifle, don't you?" (Mark)

"Well, I do, but I only have five more rounds." (Greyson)

"Well, I guess our tank will be a sharp shooter and aim to hit the boss monster. Then we can regroup and kill whatever Anna called it." (Justin)

"You do realize we don't know how the monsters will act after we kill what is controlling the others." (Kyle)

"We won't know till we try. Besides, even if we are disorganized, we can always run away and regroup later. Although we still need to kill the ones controlling the others, though." (Greyson)

"Why does this feel like a bad Idea?" (Mark)

"Then do you have any other bright ideas then?" (Anna)

"Not really." (Mark)

"Then don't Jinx us." (Anna)

With that, all of them spread out, Justin moving to the left and climbing up a sturdy but solid tree at an angle where he can see their target but remain out of sight. Kyle, deathly silent, vanished into the shadows as if he weren't even there. The only evidence of his departure is the slight indentation of the snow where he once was. Greyson moving to a better spot giving him a clear view of where he needed to hit he laid down on his stomach attaching the Sheild to his back as he rested his arms the rifle appearing in his arms but propped against the ground as he adjusted his aim with the scope in full play for this part. Mark, being a close-range fighter, moved himself behind a tree in an area that would allow him to both run away and fight when necessary. Then there was Anna, who wasn't a fighter of any kind, and took a deep breath to steady her nerves. She can locate everyone except Kyle, meaning that if any of them need help, she can heal them. Thinking on her feet, she started casting her words softly and steadily as a glow encompassed her feet. Although the snow was like a white-yellow flow around her feet, she stood among the white snow that surrounded her. She visualized what she wanted as she chanted the words, leaving her lips even if she was unable to understand what they meant.

"Caeli et divinorum, concede mihi auxilium tuum, mitte de quibus egere. Evoca pro auxilio meo, Divina Custos." (Anna)
