DRAGON'S MOUNTAIN CAVE–TEN DAYS AFTER THE ATTACK DAY.
The mountain air was crisp and cold, the wind whistling softly between jagged stone peaks. Far below, clouds rolled like misty waves, blanketing the world in silence. The mouth of the enormous cave yawned open behind him, but Leo sat just outside, perched on a large rock warmed by the morning sun.
A shallow wooden bowl rested in his lap, its contents, a thick, fragrant soup, already half-eaten. Steam curled upward, briefly fogging his face before vanishing in the breeze. He took another bite, slower this time. His once-pale skin held a slight flush now. The bones beneath were still sharp, but there was a faint fullness to his cheeks that hadn't been there ten days ago. Behind him, heavy footsteps crunched over the stone.
"You eat like a rabbit" Rumbled a deep, commanding voice.
