Chapter 11 - Episode 11

Suddenly, Calista's phone rang.

Elowen stopped dragging her and turned. Calista picked up the call.

"Hello?" she said. After a short conversation, she cut the call and looked at Elowen.

"I have to go," Calista said quickly.

"But where?" Elowen asked.

"Police station."

Before Elowen could say anything else, Calista ran off. But someone nearby had been listening to the entire conversation.

"Why is she going to the police station?" the person muttered and began following her quietly.

---

At the police station, Calista entered and walked straight to the officer's cabin.

"Hi, Ambrose," she greeted as she stepped inside.

"Hi," he replied.

(Note: Ambrose is also a detective, like Calista.)

"You called me, Officer Smith?" Calista asked.

"Yes, detective. Please, have a seat," he said.

Calista sat down in the chair opposite him.

"So, what's the problem, Officer?"

"I have a case for you," he said seriously. "You have to catch a mafia member. He's planning to meet and deal with another mafia boss next month. You'll need to catch both of them. And since this is your first time working on a case like this, Ambrose will assist you. I've already given him the details. You may go now."

Calista stood up and exited the cabin.

---

"So—" a voice called out.

Calista turned toward the direction of the voice and smiled. "Brother Am?"

"Don't call me that!" Ambrose said with a sigh, though he couldn't hide the fondness in his voice. He handed her a file. "Here. Take this."

"Oh, thank you, Brother Am," Calista said playfully.

"Now tell me… how's it going with your boyfriend?" he asked as they both sat down on a nearby bench.

"No good. We broke up… or I should say he broke up with me," Calista said with a sad chuckle.

"Oh! But why?"

"For 500 million."

"Wait, what!?"

"Someone gave him 500 million to break up with me."

"What? Calista, you're confusing me!"

"I know, I know. Let me explain everything," she said, her tone turning serious. "It all started the night I spent with Cassion… then the breakup… then my meeting with Fiorell."

She explained everything to Ambrose in detail. He listened carefully, his expression changing with every twist in the story.

"It's too much…" he finally said, rubbing his forehead. "Let's go for lunch."

He gently placed a hand on her shoulder, guiding her as they walked out of the police station.

"So—" someone said again from the shadows.
