The two men hanging from the chains were fast asleep. Dried blood streaked their chins, soot smeared their faces, and their clothes clung to their sweat-drenched bodies, reeking of urine and despair.
Rox lounged in a chair opposite them, sipping leisurely from a glass of expensive wine with an unusual flavor. He swirled the liquid thoughtfully before breaking the silence. "I see you're having a good time."
The men jerked awake, fear flashing across their haggard faces. "Did you have a good rest?" Rox asked, his tone dripping with mockery.
"Piss off," Danny rasped, his voice hoarse.
Rox nodded, unbothered. "I guess you haven't been tortured enough. Pity your dad insisted Rai shouldn't hurt you. Too bad Rai's not the one you need to worry about."
Danny licked his cracked lips nervously as Rox stood and retrieved a pin from the table. "Look, man, I swear I'll give you anything! My dad—he's a detective. He'll pay you!"
