Seconds after I appeared, gasps and whispers instantly filled the room.
Lord Vardem, who had been standing like a stone statue among his troops, finally reacted. His eyes widened, and for a man with a face as rigid as carved rock, he now looked truly… confused?
He approached me with swift steps, his black cloak billowing like a raging shadow.
"This… this is impossible!" his voice echoed.
I stepped back half a step, squaring my shoulders. "Wait. What—"
"How long did you feel like you were inside that labyrinth?" he cut in quickly.
I paused to think. "Maybe… one or two hours?"
He froze. His gaze sharpened. "You entered no more than five minutes ago. Even our hourglass hasn't reached halfway."
I blinked. "What…?"
"In the history of our faction, no one has ever exited the Labyrinth this quickly without losing their mind—or coming out sobbing, screaming, or unconscious."
I stood still, stunned.
