Charles gently took Edeline's hands in his. "Come with me."
Without waiting for an answer, he guided her toward the water pump. Edward and Keal watched them quietly from behind.
"Looks like Charles has it handled," Edward muttered with a small smile.
The woman, without looking back, pointed toward the cabin. "You—Keal. Go inside and bring the first aid kit."
"Yes, ma'am." Keal nodded and hurried off.
Charles carefully began washing Edeline's hands at the pump, letting the cool water flow over the cuts. Some of the wounds reopened slightly, and a few drops of blood dripped into the grass.
Edeline winced but whispered, "I'm fine. Really."
Charles shook his head. "Don't lie. You're hurt."
Keal returned just as Charles led Edeline back. The group gathered near the cabin, where the woman continued cutting meat from the goat.
Keal handed over the kit and knelt to help treat Edeline's wounds, dabbing them gently.
