Chapter 13 - Ancestral Council

The sound of crackling energy filled the chamber as fourteen ancestors sat around a grand, circular table woven from pure energy, its surface swirling with spectral light. The air was thick with tension, a weight pressing down on them like the endless passage of time. The echoes of their voices clashed in heated debate.

"This is impossible!" boomed an elder ancestor, his voice reverberating like a thunderclap. His spectral form flickered with agitation, eyes blazing with indignation. "We sealed Saponu's abilities away. My power is absolute—no one can break my curse seal unless I break it myself!" His fists slammed against the table, sending a shockwave that reverberated through the chamber, vibrating the very walls.

"And yet..." came the calm but sharp voice of another, cutting through the growing chaos. Her tone was a blade, precise and sharp. "That fact alone means something we overlooked has come into play." The hum of murmurs filled the air, like the low murmur of a brewing storm.

The chamber rumbled with discontent. Some ancestors nodded in grim agreement, while others exchanged wary glances. The silence shattered when Monica, the newest member of the council, spoke, her voice unwavering and cold as steel.

"It will be the newly joined prisoner," she said, her words ringing like a bell, clear and slicing through the noise. "Someone who hasn't even awakened their abilities yet… someone who doesn't belong here… had the power to aid in his escape. How?"

Her words hung in the air, charged with anticipation. A ripple of energy surged across the table, and one of the elderly ancestors struck the surface with his palm. The crack! of spiritual pressure shot through the room like a whip, sending a tremor through the floor.

"If that is true, then we have a greater problem than Saponu himself," he growled, his voice a low rumble. "Someone among the condemned… is not what they seem."

The room fell into an eerie silence, the weight of the realization settling over them like a dark cloud. The murmur of voices faded into a heavy, oppressive stillness.

In the prison chamber , the sound of crackling energy filled the air as Saponu's Copyeyes flared with raw power. His gaze swept across the battlefield, his eyes as cold and calculating as ever.

Rosamund stood at the front, her presence commanding. The air around her pulsed with authority as she and eight powerful ancestors prepared for battle. Their energies swirled around them, a crackling storm of power. The ground beneath them trembled, resonating with the magnitude of their combined might.

Saponu chuckled, the sound like the distant rumble of thunder. " I wonder when your backup will show up. You're not enough to take me on."

he mused, rolling his shoulders as his Copyeyes glowed with immense energy. "This will be fun."

Rosamund's eyes remained locked on him, unflinching. "You've gone far enough, Saponu. This ends now." Her voice rang with finality as she conjured a spear forged from pure energy. It crackled with golden light, the whoosh of its creation sharp in the tense air.

The surrounding ancestors ignited their powers with synchronized precision:

Isaiah's molten veins pulsed, and with a roar of flame, streams of liquid fire shot forward like serpents, hissing as they moved. "Fssshhh!" the flames crackled as they danced through the air, lighting up the battlefield.

Naomi shimmered like crystal, extending her arms. The sound of crystal cracking filled the air as she formed an impenetrable barrier of hardened light, a sharp, crystalline sound as the light solidified.

Darius melted into the shadows, reappearing behind Saponu with a whisper of darkness, his footsteps silent. His dagger, forged from pure shadow, sliced through the air with a sharp whoosh, aimed directly at Saponu's spine.

Selene's levitation hummed as the surrounding air vibrated with an almost electric crackle. Whooomm, the pressure of gravity itself bending under her will.

Gideon muttered an incantation under his breath, and the spectral lion summoned by his will roared with pure spiritual force, its mighty roar filling the chamber with an earth-shattering ROOOAAARR!

Hassan's form flickered with electricity, crackling with energy. CRACK! The sound of his knuckles cracking echoed as arcs of lightning danced between his fingers, the air snapping with static.

Miriam stretched her hands outward, her voice soft as she warped time. A faint whirr surrounded her allies as their reflexes sharpened, the passage of time momentarily bending.

Jonah exhaled slowly, and golden veins coursed through his arms. SHHHRRRR! Energy blades swirled around him, the sound like metal scraping against metal as they formed.

---

Saponu smirked, his voice dripping with mockery. "Interesting. But none of this will be enough."

A sudden explosion shook the battlefield, sending shockwaves through the air. Elsewhere, David clashed with three ancestors assigned to stop him. The BOOM! of the blows rang out, the earth trembling beneath their feet. Peter roared, the sound like a beast unleashed, his fists colliding with an enemy. BAM! The shockwaves from each strike sent the ground shaking.

Randy grinned, his hands clapping together with a resounding CRACK! that reverberated across the battlefield, followed by a deafening BOOOOM! of sonic waves. The soundwaves ripped through the air, shattering the surrounding environment.

The battle had begun.

---

Back on the battlefield, the tension reached a breaking point. A charged silence filled the air, the weight of the impending clash heavy and suffocating. The ground beneath them rumbled like a storm about to break. Saponu's gaze locked with Rosamund's, both knowing what was at stake.

With a battle cry, the ancestors launched their attack.

Isaiah's flames roared to life, his body engulfed in raging blue fire. He thrust his hands forward, sending a wave of fire hotter than the sun straight at Saponu. The flames WHOOOOSHED through the air, crackling violently.

Darius emerged from the shadows with a swish, his dagger aimed at Saponu's spine. The sharp, whooshing sound cut through the air as it neared its target.

Selene's gravity hold gripped the air with a low groan, pressing down on Saponu with crushing force.

Gideon's spectral lion roared again, its paws pounding the ground as it charged at Saponu, the sound of its heavy steps a THUD! THUD! that resonated through the battlefield.

Miriam bent time, her actions causing a brief whirr as Saponu's movements slowed, the air shimmering with temporal distortion.

Hassan blurred forward, moving faster than a crack of lightning. CRACK! His fists collided with the air, each strike a sonic boom of force.

Jonah released thousands of golden blades, each one slicing through the air with a hissss like a thousand knives cutting through the wind.

Naomi's chains wrapped around Saponu's limbs, their impact ringing with a CLANG! as they tried to hold him down.

Selene intensified gravity, a whoooommm of pressure forcing Saponu further into the earth.

For a moment, it seemed like the coordinated assault would overwhelm him. The air was thick with the sound of fire, shadow, gravity, and time. But then—

Saponu's golden eyes burned with intense power. CRACK! His arm shot out, reversing the fire's course and exploding it backward. BOOOOM! The explosion engulfed Isaiah in an inferno.

Darius's dagger froze mid-air, an unseen force hurling him away. CRASH! He slammed into the ground with a sickening thud.

Selene gasped as her gravity hold shattered with a SNAP! She staggered back, her breath caught in her chest.

Gideon's lion leapt forward, but Saponu grabbed it by the mane. A SNAP! of energy twisted the lion's essence into nothingness, and with a crushing motion, Saponu destroyed it.

Jonah's blades turned on him with a swish! and a deadly hiss, forcing him to dodge narrowly.

Naomi's chains shattered with a CRACK! as Saponu flexed, breaking them as though they were glass.

Miriam's time distortion broke, and Hassan's lightning-speed strikes were useless as Saponu caught his fist with a sickening CRUNCH! His grip tightened, and Hassan screamed in agony.

Through the chaos, Rosamund saw her chance.

Her spear crackled with divine energy as she moved with lightning speed, WHOOOOSH—her spear aimed straight at Saponu's heart.

The impact was monumental. CRACK! The ground beneath them cracked, and a shockwave of energy sent ripples through the entire Spire. The sound of the collision was deafening.

Saponu's arm trembled under the force of the attack, and for the first time, his expression faltered. His golden eyes narrowed, the battle far from over.

"NOW!" Rosamund roared. "HIT HIM WITH EVERYTHING!"

---

Despite their injuries, the ancestors rose again. The sounds of their powers reigniting filled the air like the start of a storm.

Isaiah reignited his flames, the whoosh of fire roaring back to life.

Gideon summoned another lion, its roar shaking the battlefield.

Hassan, ignoring the agony in his hand, launched himself forward. The crackling of lightning followed him, a CRACK-CRACK-CRACK!

Miriam bent time once again, the whir of her power sharpening their focus.

Darius reappeared with a whoosh from the shadows, his daggers poised and deadly.

Jonah released more blades, the whirl of metal slicing the air.

Naomi's chains reformed, the sound of CLANG filling the air as they tried again to ensnare Saponu.

Selene increased the gravity, the ground CREAKING under the immense weight.

For the first time, Saponu's face twisted in pain. He let out a furious ROAR, golden energy exploding outward in a wave of force. BOOOOM! The battlefield trembled under the power.

---

When the dust settled, Rosamund struggled to rise, her spear cracked but still intact. Around her, her allies lay battered, some barely conscious.

Saponu exhaled slowly, his chest rising and falling steadily. He cracked his neck with a POP, preparing for the next round.

"That was entertaining," he said with a smirk. "Shall we continue?"

Rosamund tightened her grip on her spear.

The fight was far from over.
