The city was heating up, and the people could feel it. Mrs. Swan had just returned from her usual vacation, fully funded by her elder son. She was living the life, always spending lavishly. The mansion was not wrapped in its usual coldness; rather, it had a radiating ambiance. Voices echoed from within, and lights shimmered in the distance.
She walked in with a guard carrying her suitcase. The door creaked open, and her eyes darkened. Sitting in the living area were Kabir, Donavan, and Evan, all laughing and chatting like long-lost friends. This was not a good sign.
She stepped in, dragging her legs.
"Evan," she called, and he turned, beaming.
"Mom… How was your trip? I heard you were to come back much later. What happened?" He asked as he walked up and pecked her on the cheek.
Mrs. Swan tightened her fist but managed a smile.
"I was bored," she replied, then turned to the other two. "What brings you here?"
Kabir and Donovan stared at each other for a second before replying.
