Derrick's POV
"Derrick, stop!"
Nathan's voice echoed down, seizing the attention of both the officials and me. He nearly stumbled as he rushed down the staircase.
I stood still, watching Nathan make his way over. I stood alongside the officials, all of us immersed in watching Nathan as he made his way over.
My mind was zeroed in on Nathan. I stared at him, watching as he tried to speak a word despite his heavy panting.
Nathan had his hands on his knees. From the looks of it, he wasn't in perfect shape. He had just returned from the healer less than a couple of days ago. His body was yet to return to its initial stage. He got tired easily now.
He panted heavily, but that didn't stop him from expressing his thoughts. "Don't go!" he said.
The officials all had their eyes on us, perhaps wondering what right a simple servant like Nathan had to have a say in the actions of the Alpha of the pack.
What was equally surprising was that I was listening to him. Seemingly fascinated even.
