As Felix was busying around, weighing the ingredients, noting down the amounts, and confirming everything with the list, Kade's eyes didn't leave him even for a second. He was sipping on his tea, while watching the Omega's every move so intensely, as if he wanted to burn the image onto his brain.
Naturally, Felix wasn't unaware of the Alpha's eyes on him. How could he, when the gaze could almost burn his skin? But he attempted to ignore it, focusing his attention on his task. He had so many jars to go through, he didn't have time to entertain Kade!
But Kade apparently thought otherwise.
"So, you have truly become the witch's assistant, haven't you?" he asked, leaning over the table and resting his chin on his hand.
Felix didn't lift his eyes from the scale, only muttering as he noted down the weight, "As you can see."
"Hmm. Does he treat you well?" Kade didn't give up on his attempts to start the conversation.
All he received in response, though, was a short, "Yes."
