Chapter 1 - Unknown Memories

RING RING

The clock beside our bed rang as soon as it was 9 a.m.

-"Ha...is it already time?" I said as I rubbed my eyes to regain more of my consciousness.

I am Florence, a 28-year-old woman lying on my bed. The man beside me is my husband, Eirian, a 26-year-old man. I know, the name sounds weird, right? But in this world, there is nothing impossible. Even an elephant can fly in this era using modern technologies.

-"Flor, are you already awake?" He said while running his fingers through his white hair. In this world, I've never seen a person with white hair in my entire life until I met him.

Maybe... maybe that's the reason I'm intrigued by his charming appearance. Moreover, he has a nice body figure that's making him more attractive to any girls, including me. But I'm grateful that he's the one who's hitting on me first.

-"Mm hm." I nod gently. "Did you have a good rest, dear husband?" I say in a playful tone.

"I'll make a breakfast for us now; you must be hungry." I winked.

-"Alright…" He replied shortly, but beneath it, I know he's holding back his blushes.

Our life is like an ordinary married couple's, but we're a little bit different from them. We have never argued or fought like other couples would do; instead, we enjoy each other's presence.

---------------

-"You're going to buy groceries later?" He asked. While eating the fried rice I cooked for him on the kitchen table.

-"Yes, our stock has been running out these days."

-"I'll accompany you; it's not like I have other plans either."

-"Sounds good!" I said as I gave him a thumbs up.

---------------

The weather is good for a walk; it must be nice if everyday went by like this – no arguments, no conflicts. Just peace and a handsome husband beside me everyday.

-"That shop sells jewellery. Flor, you don't want any? I can treat you this time." He said confidently.

-"Why? Am I not pretty enough with this appearance?" I said with a pout, in a teasing manner.

-"No! It's not that – ugh. You really…"

-"I'm just kidding, come on. I can't miss the opportunity my dear husband gave me right?" I barged in the shop's door as soon as I said that.

My husband chuckles softly.

-"Flor, which one do you want?"

I looked around to search for a piece of jewellery that suits my taste but found none. When I'm just about to tell him that, my eyes linger on a piece of jewellery at the edge of the shop. The design is unique, something I've never seen before with a white colour on it.

-"You want that, Flor?" He asked.

-" Mm hm!" Yes, that jewel's colour reminds me of your hair."

-"Alright if you say so." He turns his attention to the cashier and asks about the price of the jewel.

I can't lie. There is something about the jewel, but it seems like it's just an ordinary one. As soon as I was about to pick up the jewel with my hands, a bunch of unknown memories rushed into my mind. I was spacing out a little, shocked by the sudden impact, but I quickly ignored it.

-"There's no such thing as these; what a weird jewel..." But deep inside my heart, when I saw the memories rushing into my mind. There's a man with white hair, similar to my husband's, crying loudly as he looks at the unknown white space. He curled up into a ball, and the voice of his crying was also similar to my husband's.

---------------

-"Flor, do you have fun?" His tone was playful at first, but it changed as he realised my expression turned anxious.

-"Are you okay? You should res-" His sentences were cut off by a woman's scream near the area where we're both standing.

-"W-What was that?" I grabbed my husband's arm and stick near him. Not because I'm scared, but the voice that was heard by us was definitely one of the woman's voices in the memories I received earlier.

But strange. Doesn't it happen at another place? Why, why does it have to happen here? In the mall at that!

-"E-Ei, I'm afraid." My expression quickly changes.

-"There is nothing that will happen, trust me. Maybe it's just about a kid who doesn't get his toy bought by its mom."

-"A kid? You heard the scream and thought it was a kid?!" I quickly lead him to our next destination, our house, but his body refuses.

-"What exactly do you know, Flor? Do you by any chance know whose voice that is?" His voice filled with concern. Well, it is understandable because I have never shown him this side of mine.

-"N-No, it's jus-"

BADUMP BADUMP.

A giant footstep was heard by all the people in the mall we are both in.
