Liriel;
I stood frozen in the middle of the room, his words echoing inside my mind like a mocking laughter.
"I will pick my wife over my best friend any day."
Wife.
Wife!?
I barely noticed the sting in my palm until I realised how tightly I was gripping the vial still hidden in my sleeve. My nails had dug into my flesh, but I didn't care.
He didn't even wait for my reply before he turned around.
He was walking away.
Turning his back on me.
On me!!
No. I won't allow this. I will never allow it. I can not lose him. I can not let this happen.
No fucking way.
I need to stop him. Regain control of this entire mess. I watch him get to the door, and my lips move in a desperate attempt to stop him.
"Kealith," I call softly. My voice sweet and steady... too steady for the storm rumbling in my chest.
He pauses with his hand on the door, but he doesn't turn to look at me.
Fine. If the mountain won't come to me, I will go to the mountain.
