"You want to kiss? Let's do it." John grinned.
Jibril's face burned so hot it felt like she could boil the entire lake.
"I–I didn't mean—!" she stammered, her hands twitching as she tried to gently lift John's head off her lap.
But he didn't move away.
His eyes were still slightly half-lidded from sleep, but that confident grin on his lips made her heart flutter uncontrollably.
John leaned in slightly, eyes locked on hers. "You sure? You looked pretty determined a second ago."
Jibril bit her lip, struggling between instinct and rationality, between embarrassment and temptation. Her heart pounded so hard it drowned out the sounds of the lake, the rustling trees, the chatter and sounds of people and monsters as only her racing heart and John's face became her focal point.
And then, she suddenly leaned down, trembling just slightly, and ever so softly, pressed her lips to his. It was barely more than a brush — a quick, shy peck.
