Li Si slept through until past six. When she woke up, her head was pounding. She sat up and looked around at her surroundings, having no idea how she got back. She had blacked out from drinking and guessed it must have been the two of them who brought her home.
She grabbed her bag from the bedside table and rummaged for her phone. There were unread text messages. Li Si felt a rush of excitement—it must be a message from him. However, when she opened it, it was just a classmate's birthday wishes.
She sighed. What's going on? Why wasn't there even a single text from him?
Feeling dejected, she went into the bathroom to wash her face. It dawned on her that she hadn't had much to eat at lunch, and now her stomach was empty, her mouth still carried the bitter taste of alcohol. She decided to head downstairs to find something to ease her hunger.
