Jean nodded. "Exactly. I didn't marry Logan for power. Or status. It was supposed to be a business deal. It was for my revenge. But now... things are blurring. His parents are sweet to me, his sister's following me around like a lost puppy, and Logan..." She hesitated.
Emma raised a brow. "Logan...?"
Jean looked away. "He's being too soft. Too patient. It's... unsettling."
Emma smirked again, tone turning playful. "Aww, is the big bad Kingsley being nice to you?"
"Emma," Jean warned, but her cheeks betrayed her… just the tiniest bit pink.
Emma's mouth dropped open. "Oh. My. God. Are you blushing?"
"No," Jean said quickly.
"You are!"
"Drop it."
"I will not drop it, my queen." Emma laughed and plopped down beside her. "So what's next? A castle? Royal family dinners? Matching crowns?"
Jean buried her face in her hands. "I need coffee. A gallon of it. And possibly a new identity."
