The next day…
By the time Akeno Himejima and the others awoke from their slumber, Kaiser had already left with Kuroka and Asia.
Without saying goodbye to anyone, without informing anyone, the three had quietly departed, causing a stir in the villa.
Except for Rias, everyone else found it extremely difficult to adjust to the sudden departure of Kaiser and the others. All of them were feeling complicated emotions.
Although their positions had remained ambiguous, after more than a month of living together, the Gremory peerage had already grown used to the presence of the three.
Now that Kaiser and the others had suddenly left, it wasn't just Akeno, Yuuto Kiba, and Gasper who felt unsettled—Koneko Toujou was especially at a loss, as if she had returned to that moment in her childhood when Kuroka had abandoned her.
In the end, it was Rias who spoke.
"We'll meet again."
And so, on that day, the special training of the Gremory peerage officially concluded.
With a new outlook, they returned to the Human World, to Kuoh Town, resuming their ordinary daily lives.
During this time, they also tried to track down the whereabouts of Kaiser and the others, only to discover that they had already left Kuoh Town, with their destination unknown.
Just as Kaiser had anticipated, the Phoenix family approached Rias, seeking to fulfill the engagement agreement and have her marry into the Phoenix family.
Naturally, Rias refused.
As expected, a Rating Game was announced, with the participants being Rias and her fiancé.
The outcome of this Rating Game would determine whether the engagement between the Gremory and Phoenix families would proceed.
If Rias won, the engagement would be annulled as she wished.
If she lost, she would have to obey her family's arrangement and marry into the Phoenix family.
This Rating Game not only attracted the attention of the Gremory and Phoenix families but also caught the interest of many pure-blooded Devil families.
Everyone believed the outcome was already decided—that the third son of the Phoenix family would emerge victorious.
On one side was a Phoenix, known as the "Immortal Bird," who had debuted years ago and participated in several Rating Games, with a full set of peerage members under his command.
On the other side was the still-undeclared, underage Gremory heiress, with only a Queen, a Rook, a Bishop, and a Knight—short by eleven peerage members.
With such a disparity, anyone with eyes could see who would win or lose, right?
Even Sirzechs thought so—he didn't have high hopes for his sister.
However, the result shocked everyone.
From the beginning of the Rating Game, the Gremory peerage displayed overwhelming strength, utterly crushing the Phoenix peerage.
A Queen who could freely wield lightning…
A Rook who could skillfully use both Youjutsu and Senjutsu…
A Knight who had reached the Balance Breaker stage…
And a Bishop who could stop time and steadily control her power…
Just four individuals went up against the Phoenix side's full fifteen peerage members, and this seemingly one-sided battle ended with a near-total sweep as the Gremory side utterly decimated their opponents.
By the end, even the Phoenix, who had been calmly watching from the sidelines, panicked and had to personally enter the fray at a critical moment—only to be intercepted by Rias herself, initiating a king-versus-king duel.
The duel went much the same as the earlier matches. Though underestimated, Rias demonstrated overwhelming power. Once her destructive Demonic Power output reached its limit, her destructive force was nearly on par with an Ultimate-class Devil. She blasted the Phoenix repeatedly into ashes—literally disintegrating him dozens of times.
In the end, Rias didn't even use her trump card, the artificial Sacred Gear. The third son, whose inner strength was far more fragile than Kaiser had imagined, completely broke down, screaming in defeat and fleeing the Human World in tears, returning to the Underworld and refusing to show himself again.
Thus, the Gremory peerage achieved a full-blown upset, winning the Rating Game in all respects and allowing Rias to successfully annul her engagement.
After this incident, Rias gained immense attention from the Devil World.
Even the Four Satans acknowledged that Rias and her peerage would no doubt become pillars of the Devil World in the future.
Because of this, the Gremory peerage became wildly popular within the Devil World. Despite not having officially debuted, they were already revered by countless Rating Game fans and gained an unknown number of followers overnight.
However, Rias and the others paid little attention to this. They continued living peacefully in Kuoh Town, occasionally returning to the villa in the back mountains of the Gremory estate. During holidays, they would often train voluntarily, continuously honing their skills.
Of course, while their lives seemed peaceful, behind the scenes, the territories of the Three Factions had long since ceased to be calm.
After the existence of the Khaos Brigade was exposed, and with Kaiser providing some intel to the Three Factions, each faction began to take action—either openly or covertly—eventually initiating full-scale conflict with the Khaos Brigade.
Among Devils, Angels, and Fallen Angels, some traitors defected to the Khaos Brigade. Once this came to light, the Three Factions began purging traitors within their own ranks, escalating the conflict into a full-blown war.
Kuoh Town became one of the central battlegrounds.
Because the top forces of the Three Factions had once gathered there, the Old Satan Faction within the Khaos Brigade inevitably made a move on the town.
As the name suggests, the Old Satan Faction was composed of the bloodline descendants of the former Satans—those who had been driven out of Devil territory by the current Satans like Sirzechs—and their supporters.
This faction joined forces with rebel Angels and Fallen Angels, launching a terrifying assault on the Three Factions' strongholds in Kuoh Town, centered around the descendants of the Old Satans.
Thanks to this, all of Kuoh Town became a battlefield. The Old Satan Faction and the Three Factions clashed violently, dragging Rias and the others into it and repeatedly exposing them to life-and-death crises.
Under the Old Satan Faction's attacks, all three factions suffered losses—especially the Devils, who were targeted most intensely due to the deep hatred of the Old Satan descendants. Even Kuoh Academy was turned into a battlefield multiple times.
This even affected the Human World, causing considerable unrest.
Fortunately, Kaiser and the others were not in Kuoh Town at the time. Otherwise, they would undoubtedly have been caught up in it.
That said, even though Kaiser and his group were not in Kuoh Town, they had not been idle during this time.
Under Kaiser's lead, he finally put his original plan into action—
Wreaking havoc across the world under the guise of the Khaos Brigade.
They traveled north, where they confronted the Aesir of Norse mythology. Kaiser even fought head-on against Norse gods, earning the title of the most powerful Holy Spear wielder in history and gaining widespread fame.
They also visited the territories of Greek mythology, Mount Sumeru's Thirty-Three Heavens, clashed with the elephant-headed god of Indian mythology, confronted the King of the Asura Gods, and even ventured into the Pure Land and Egypt—engaging in direct conflict with forces from Celtic mythology as well.
Kaiser took action multiple times, repeatedly demonstrating his Balance Breaker. During this period, the God-Slaying Spear became infamous across all major mythological factions.
The existence of the [Spear of Divine Judgment] nearly caused several gods to perish at Kaiser's hands. As a result, the title "Holy Spear Wielder Who Slays Gods" skyrocketed in notoriety—viewed as both hated and feared by countless mythological factions.
From then on, no god dared to provoke Kaiser. Everyone sought to avoid him. Even the chief gods and god-kings of the major mythologies frowned upon hearing his name and unanimously issued the same order:
"If you encounter the God-Slaying Spear, avoid direct confrontation at all costs."
Clearly, while they were not afraid, they had no desire to provoke such a being capable of slaying gods. Hence, they adopted such measures.
Kaiser, for his part, felt somewhat disappointed by this.
"I really wanted to test myself against those top-tier beings of the world. Didn't expect them to be so protective of their own lives."
As the saying goes, the longer one lives, the more one fears death.
Gods, being exalted beings of eternity, were nearly impossible to kill unless they sought death themselves.
Given this, they naturally had no desire to engage in a direct clash with Kaiser—a human capable of slaying gods.
To them, human life was fleeting, vanishing within a century. Why risk a life-and-death battle with such a "short-lived species"?
Better to sleep for a century. When they wake, the so-called threat would be gone. There was no need to stoop to his level.
And so, Kaiser became someone all mythological factions avoided like the plague. Anyone who wished to target him had to consider the consequences carefully.
Although Kaiser felt some regret about this, what was done was done. He didn't go looking for trouble just because others refused to fight him. Instead, he happily roamed the world with Kuroka and Asia, continually stirring the nerves of every mythological faction.
This kind of life lasted for several months for Kaiser and his group of three.
Until one day, Kaiser received a call from Azazel…
...
"Yo, God-Slaying Spearman. How've you been lately?"
That day, the magic circle in Kaiser's hand activated, and a miniaturized image of Azazel appeared in the cube, greeting Kaiser.
"What do you think? Same as always."
Looking at Azazel on the circle, Kaiser curled his lip.
"I don't believe the Governor of the Fallen Angels doesn't know our whereabouts or recent activities. You're obviously just making small talk."
Kaiser's words were met with Azazel's hearty laughter.
"Who would've thought? It's only been a few months, and you've already stirred up so much trouble."
Azazel was truly impressed.
