"Jake and I are just friends and I definitely don't love him like that." I breathed out but he didn't seem convinced.
"He was making you laugh and had his hands all over you. I didn't like it. I should break his hand for that." He continued, sounding like he was discussing the weather.
"He was just messing around, I swear," I added and the prince sighed, still appearing quite unhappy. My heart fluttered in my chest as I blinked up at him. Something seemed to have convinced him in my eyes before he finally sighed and nodded.
"Alright, I believe you."
Relief flooded me because I definitely didn't want him to hurt the only friend I've ever made.
"You served Vlad yesterday, right?" He suddenly asked and I stiffened at the mention of the prince that had used my mouth against my will. At once, disgust filled up my stomach and I felt nauseous. I nodded slowly while pushing the thought of that sick prince out of my mind.
