Chapter 109 - Fighting To The Death, Odin Wakes Up

Frost Titans—an ignorant and backward race—humiliated themselves and kept Asgard in constant turmoil. If they were completely exterminated, Loki would not be any different.

This was Loki's simplest thought.

He wanted to become king of Asgard. Two things stood in his way: first, his bloodline as a Frost Titan, and second, his lack of credibility.

Don't look at Thor—though God King Odin was not entirely satisfied with him, Thor had spent thousands of years leading Asgard's army to conquer the North and South, earning great renown. Many planets across the universe had statues dedicated to Thor.

And what did Loki have?

He was a god of trickery who relied solely on deceit!

No credibility, no prestige, and a cloud of suspicion over him.

"Come on, fight me!" Loki snarled, knocking Thor down with a single blow before snarling again, "I never wanted the throne. I just want to be your equal!"

For Loki, the throne wasn't about the crown itself, but about proving he was capable—something Odin refused to acknowledge.

"I don't want to fight you, brother!" Thor said, rising.

"I'm not your brother!" Loki sneered. "Don't you know? I'm a Frost Titan. You and I were never brothers!"

"Loki, what madness is this? Even if you are a Frost Titan, it doesn't change the fact that you're my brother!" Thor shook his head.

"I want to reclaim the throne—not because of Frost Titan blood—but because you don't understand what qualities a king needs.

If you become king with your current mindset, it would be a disaster for Asgard!"

"Really? No?" Loki said with tears in his eyes. "What qualities does a king need? What made you such a softie when you returned from Earth? Don't tell me…it's because of that woman!

Yes, maybe when all this is over, I'll pay her a visit myself!"

Loki succeeded in pissing Thor off, and the two fought fiercely.

Watching from a distance, Rowan had to admit—at the start, Loki's combat ability was impressive, matching Thor's in many ways.

He didn't look like a weakling at all.

Of course, the Thor here was only in the initial state of the Hammer God—not as powerful as he would evolve later.

Though Thor was stronger than Loki, the difference wasn't huge.

These two brothers were an interesting pair.

Neither had much real interest in the throne, yet both fought to the death over it.

One thought, "I'm not interested in the throne, but you have to give me equal standing." For this equality, his adoptive father fainted in anger, and his biological father was beaten to death by him. He could be called a true werewolf of a generation.

The other thought, "I'm not interested in the throne, but you can't be king. I want it back, and I'll prove it to you. Watch—I'll show you tomorrow."

Others might fight for the throne with ambition.

But these two? Neither truly cared about the throne, yet they still fought to the death.

Seeing this, Rowan wondered what Odin would think.

What a filial family!

But just as Rowan was distracted, the two had already hit Bifrost directly—from the control center to the bridge itself—and Loki fell beneath it.

"Fake!" Rowan's eyes lit up.

He immediately saw through the illusion.

Loki's magic was incredibly realistic—so much so it was nearly impossible to tell real from fake—but it could not fool Rowan.

Even with his innate ability, he barely had to focus to spot the difference.

Thor, however, was clearly deceived.

He lunged to grab Loki, only to find the target was a phantom.

Suddenly, Loki stabbed him with a scepter.

A large hole was punctured.

Then Loki transformed into countless illusions, laughing wildly around Thor.

But Thor shouted, "Enough!"

Thunderous energy erupted from his body, sending Loki's real form flying backward and causing all illusions to vanish.

From childhood to adulthood, the brothers had fought like this many times, and Thor knew how to counter it easily.

Loki crashed hard to the ground.

Thor came up, pressing Mjolnir against Loki's chest.

Loki couldn't move but didn't stop taunting.

"Look at you, Thor. All your strength is useless now. Can you hear me, big brother? You're powerless!"

Facing the Bifrost that threatened to destroy all of Jotunheim, Thor had no choice but to summon Mjolnir and smash the bridge repeatedly, trying to break it.

Rowan was curious—back in his previous life, he'd wondered if Bifrost had a physical form, and how it could be broken.

Now he saw it could.

Thor was about to shatter Bifrost with a single mighty blow.

"What are you doing? If you destroy the bridge, you'll never see her again!" Loki growled.

But nothing could stop Thor.

This was what Loki could never understand—true heroes sacrifice everything for the people.

Sacrifice lovers, sacrifice themselves—there was nothing they wouldn't give up.

Boom!

With a deafening roar, the Bifrost shattered.

The immense energy it had been channeling immediately dissipated, and Jotunheim's crisis eased.

Thor and Loki nearly fell into space.

At this critical moment, Rowan teleported to the edge of the broken bridge and grabbed Thor.

At the same time, Thor's other hand was caught by another figure—the Celestial Master who had crossed space and time.

No doubt God King Odin had awakened when the Bifrost shattered.

Rowan felt the terrifying energy radiating from the kind-faced old man beside him.

He was overwhelmed with emotion.

This was the super boss—undoubtedly one of the top ten beings in the current universe.

The king of Asgard, lord of the Nine Realms: Odin.
