Author's POV
Seraphina rushed to her window and watched as Lorien addressed the guards at the gate. They listened to him attentively, but she could not hear what he was telling them. Alistair was ready with his horse and ten of his men behind him. Two of the guards went to the stable and brought Lorien's horse. He mounted it and turned his head to the men behind Alistair, said a few words, and they nodded. His escorts also mounted their horses.
She let out a soft breath, wishing she could stop him, but he had to go and ensure the safety of his people. He shifted his gaze to her window and waved his hand gently. Seraphina smiled lightly and waved her hand back. They rode out of the castle swiftly. The guards locked the gates immediately, their eyes sharp and their movements showed how alert they were.
