Noelle's eyes widen in surprise, shocked that her mother had slapped her.
"Couldn't you use your brain, just a little, or do you not even have one?" Diana shouted. She paced around her daughter's room and returned to standing before her. "What exactly were you thinking going to the school to fight with Petra? And for a boy?"
"Abel isn't just any boy. He is my boyfriend, and I love him."
"Well, it's obvious he doesn't feel the same about you because if he did, then he wouldn't be screwing your best friend behind your back."
"That's not it. It's obvious that slut had seduced him."
"Noelle! Do you realize that you have to leave this country in less than forty-eight hours? I am trying my very best to find a way to get you back after a year, and here you go sabotaging my efforts."
Noelle shook her head. "I'm not leaving. I refuse to leave and let them laugh behind my back."
