Suddenly the fact that he was able to make it out alive without being digested or worse burned to death left him feeling incredulous. The creature then gave him one final, withering look, then its body began to glow.
Wooyun stumbled back, raising an arm, preparing for an attack as light poured from the dragon's chest. Its form folded in on itself, shrinking rapidly. Bones cracked and twisted, wings receding, horns vanishing with a shimmer.
In the space of a breath, the towering predator had become… something else.
A small creature roughly the size of a lapdog, floated gently down to the mossy ground. It looked like a dragon still, but far more manageable. Its eyes were still the same brilliant green, and it blinked up at him, wings fluttering once like a sulking bird.
"…You have got to be kidding me," Wooyun said flatly.
