Chapter 103 - CHAPTER 103

"Rin!" At this moment, Artoria had also arrived at the eastern district of Fishman Island but she couldn't see any sign of Rin's figure. Instead, what met her eyes was a towering vortex of energy an enormous tornado swirling violently, its winds laced with an ominous purple-black hue.

"Captain, do you think he's inside that thing?" Casa pointed at the stormy vortex, brows furrowed. Other than the crowd of Fishmen watching anxiously from a distance, and the howling, unnatural tornado, there was no sign of a battle. Casa's instinct told him Rin had to be within that storm.

"Then I'm going in to check for myself!" Artoria said sharply. As soon as she heard Casa's theory, she instinctively leapt forward, intent on entering the storm to confirm Rin's safety but she was swiftly held back by Enel.

"No! It's too dangerous. You can't go in recklessly if anything happens, it'll complicate things. Besides, if Rin sees you rushing in mid-battle, it might throw off his concentration," Enel warned, grabbing her arm with a serious expression. He wasn't just worried about her getting hurt he knew how focused a warrior needed to be in a duel, and if Rin were distracted even slightly by Artoria's sudden appearance, it could cost him everything in a clash like this.

"Then what do you expect me to do? Just stand here and watch?" Artoria bit her lip. Enel's reasoning made sense, so she stopped herself from charging in, but her heart still pounded with frustration. She needed to do something.

"I've got an idea. Casa, listen up let's both extend our Observation Haki and wrap it around the entire tornado. Maybe we can sense what's going on inside," Enel suggested. His eyes narrowed as he prepared to spread his Kenbunshoku Haki across the chaotic storm.

"Alright good plan. Let's do it!" Casa agreed without hesitation. At once, both he and Enel activated their Haki, casting wide their sensory fields and trying to encase the massive tornado, hoping to detect anything within the swirling energy.

"What's happening in there?" Artoria asked quickly. Her eyes never left the cyclone as the sound of wind howled like a beast guarding its prey.

"I… I can't sense anything," Enel muttered, eyes closed, concentrating deeply. "It's like a void… the inside is completely blacked out to me."

"Same here," Casa added with a frown. "My senses are totally blocked nothing's coming through at all." For seasoned users of Haki like them, this kind of total isolation was unusual, and deeply unsettling.

"Why? Why can't we sense anything inside? Even with Observation Haki?" Enel's voice turned tense. The tornado looked unnatural enough as it was, swirling with that eerie dark energy but now, even their most basic sensory tools were rendered useless?

"What is this thing?" Artoria asked, clearly frustrated and confused. She only wanted to ensure Rin was safe, but the more she stared at the strange phenomenon, the more questions arose.

"It's like the whole tornado is… is…" Casa began, eyes locked onto the swirling mass. He hesitated for a moment, as if the realization had just dawned but couldn't be put into words.

"An enchantment," Enel said suddenly. "That's what this is. A barrier not just a tornado. It's a full-scale magical seal made of energy. I can see it clearly now." His gaze sharpened. This wasn't just weather or sword aura it was a structured space of condensed power.

What had happened was this: when Bone Erosion and Rin's identical sword energies clashed both imbued with that purple-black aura they had fused momentarily. The resonance between their powers triggered a strange phenomenon, creating the vortex. But instead of dissipating, it had condensed into a sealed dome of violent energy sealing everything inside and locking the rest of the world out.

"An enchantment?!" Artoria gasped. Her eyes widened as she looked back at the spinning storm. It didn't just look strange it was strange. Why would a sealing technique appear in the middle of Fishman Island? And more importantly—what was happening to Rin inside it?

"We'll break through it together," Enel said, finally deciding on a course of action. "The three of us Artoria, Casa, and men if we combine our strength, we might just shatter the barrier."

It was a long shot—but with Rin potentially trapped inside a dimension of ghostly power and blade clashes, it was the only option they had.

"Okay, let's go then!" Casa slammed his fists together, and in an instant, his muscles bulged and his skin flushed with a deep red tint he had activated the power of the Ushi Ushi no Mi, Model: Mad Bull, a Zoan-type Devil Fruit that gave him the strength and stamina of a raging bull.

Enel, ever methodical, uncorked a small sealed gourd containing hydrostatic gel and rubbed it into his hands knowing that using his Goro Goro no Mi lightning powers underwater could risk harming Fishmen and merfolk nearby, the gel would neutralize residual charge upon contact. The next second, a heavy cloud of lightning sparked to life in his palm.

"Excalibur!" Artoria called, the sacred sword of promised victory materializing in her grip once again. The blade gleamed with a holy light, its energy thrumming its presence sharp and chilling, like a divine judgment upon the wicked.

"Ready? Let's hit it together!" Enel shouted. Raising his hand skyward, he unleashed a bolt of lightning, which shot forward with a crack, striking the outer rim of the swirling purple-black tornado barrier. At the same time, Artoria slashed downward her blade releasing a crescent of golden sword energy that shrieked as it cut through the water. Beside her, Casa let out a bestial grunt, hoisting a massive stone his muscles swollen from his Zoan transformation and hurled it with explosive force.

A burst of lightning, a wave of sword aura, and a boulder trailing foam all hurtled into the storm—yet the moment they touched the edge of the tornado, they vanished. Not repelled. Not deflected. Swallowed as if the storm itself consumed energy.

The nearby Fishmen, who had gathered with curiosity, now watched with widened eyes. Their princess, their guests these powerful warriors were attacking something beyond their understanding.

"What's going on? Why didn't it leave a scratch?" Artoria muttered, eyes narrowed at the tornado. It was unlike any barrier she'd seen its behavior seemed closer to an autonomous living thing than mere elemental force.

"We've got to hit it harder. That last strike was probably just a warm-up. Let's turn it up a notch!" Casa growled. He was never one to give up after a single try especially not when Rin might be in danger inside. His theory: the enchantment absorbed only weak attacks. Stronger ones might destabilize it.

"Thunderbird 30 million volts!" Enel shouted, his voice echoing. He pounded the taiko drum-like tomoe on his back, and a magnificent bird made entirely of crackling blue lightning erupted from his hand. It screeched as it soared, its wings scattering sparks in all directions, heading straight for the vortex.

Artoria raised Excalibur above her head again, her grip tightening. "Sword of Promised Victory!" she cried once more, and a much larger arc of sword energy tore through the water, slicing a path with such force that it sent shockwaves into the nearby reef.

"Mad Bull Roar!" Casa bellowed, his lungs drawing from the power of his Zoan-enhanced diaphragm. A tremendous sonic wave visible as a rippling distortion burst from his mouth and struck the vortex dead-on.

This time, all three unleashed their full might a divine sword slash, a god's lightning beast, and a beast's sonic roar fused together by desperation and resolve, all slamming into the unnatural vortex, shaking the water around it with the impact.

But still… the purple-black tornado remained, spinning endlessly untouched, unbroken.
