Chapter 119: The Death of Uchiha Itachi
Bang!!
After snapping Uchiha Itachi's neck, Uchiha Yuta didn't even spare a glance at his corpse and casually tossed it aside.
> "Did... did he really kill Uchiha Itachi?"
"That's terrifying!"
"That traitorous scum is finally dead... what a relief!"
The atmosphere in Konoha erupted into commotion. Many ninjas couldn't hide their shock, and some members of the Uchiha clan even exhaled a long-suppressed breath.
To the Uchiha clan, Uchiha Itachi was hated—much like the late Uchiha Shisui.
Now that the Fifth Hokage had personally dealt with him, it was a cathartic moment for them.
---
"Alright, you all can rest for now. Also, take Nara Shikaku to the hospital," Uchiha Yuta said, his gaze sweeping over Uchiha Fugaku and Hiashi Hyuga as he gave the order.
> "Yes, Godaime Hokage!" both men replied promptly.
Uchiha Fugaku's eyes lingered on Itachi's corpse with a complex expression. He opened his mouth to speak, but before he could, Uchiha Yuta cut him off coldly.
> "I know what you're going to say."
He took a deep breath, his voice cold and unwavering.
> "From beginning to end, Itachi sought his own death. If there's blame to place, it lies with him alone."
> "Alas..." Fugaku's face darkened. He sighed deeply and said, "Understood, Godaime Hokage."
Then, unexpectedly, Uchiha Yuta added with a meaningful expression:
> "Don't worry. Itachi at least left behind a pair of Mangekyō Sharingan. Once Sasuke awakens his own Mangekyō, I'll give them to him."
> "R-Really?" Fugaku's expression shifted to excitement in an instant.
Now that Itachi—the "main character"—was gone, his younger son, Sasuke, was his heart and soul.
> "Of course," Uchiha Yuta shrugged nonchalantly. "I always intended this pair of Mangekyō for Sasuke."
Swish!!
After saying this, Yuta disappeared in a flash.
With Hidan, Kakuzu, Uchiha Itachi, and Jūzō Biwa already dealt with, only Kisame Hoshigaki, Deidara, and Sasori remained on his radar.
---
Northern Outskirts of Konoha—
After the red Susanoo of Uchiha Itachi was violently destroyed, the expressions of Kisame, Deidara, and Sasori changed drastically.
They could tell that Itachi was truly dead.
> "What should we do?"
"Itachi, Jūzō, Hidan, Kakuzu... all gone. We're next."
Even as elite S-rank rogue ninja from across the five great nations, their pride was now overshadowed by dread.
To find themselves cornered and hunted in Konoha Village—of all places—was a nightmare.
> "Surrender now!"
"There's no escape!"
From the sidelines, Jiraiya and Tsunade finally let out a breath of relief, but their expressions remained guarded.
They both knew firsthand how dangerous the remaining Akatsuki were.
Even together, it would take everything they had to take on Kisame, Deidara, and Sasori. The threat was real.
They also shot a glance toward the Eight-Tails, who had been casually watching the battle without making a move.
After all, this was Konoha. If a Tailed Beast rampaged, the entire village could be annihilated.
So the Eight-Tails simply snacked and cheered from the sidelines—useless, but safe.
> "Surrender? That's not an option..."
Kisame bared his shark-like teeth and sneered coldly.
> "Jiraiya, Tsunade… You may be legends, but taking us down won't come without a cost."
> "Let's fight!"
Sasori's hoarse voice echoed from within his crimson amber puppet shell.
> "I still have my ultimate human puppet… I haven't even used it yet."
Whoosh!!
With a pulse of chakra, a new puppet appeared—blue-haired, yellow-eyed, robed in the garments of the Wind Daimyō and the uniform of the Hidden Sand.
> "That's…!?"
Tsunade and Jiraiya's faces turned pale with disbelief.
> "The Third Kazekage!?"
The strongest Kazekage in Sand's history—master of Magnet Release: Iron Sand.
His mysterious disappearance had once ignited the flames of the Third Great Ninja War.
And now it was clear—he hadn't vanished.
He had been turned into a human puppet by Sasori.
> "Surprised?" Sasori sneered with pride.
> "Art is eternal. It's an honor that the strongest Kazekage became part of my collection!"
> "Eternal art? Pfft."
Deidara scoffed in defiance.
> "True art is a fleeting explosion—brilliant and beautiful!"
> "Wrong."
Sasori's voice was cold. "Explosions are just chaos."
> "Tch…"
As the two began bickering about the definition of art, Kisame felt his headache build.
But before he could say anything—
BOOM!!
A dazzling white burst of energy shot forth at blinding speed.
In an instant, the puppet of the Third Kazekage—
Shattered into dust.
