"ELDER ALFREDINO? Are you serious?" said Coralis.
"Oh wow, I wasn't expecting that one. I hope they aren't accusing Blue for it!" said Sebastian.
"They don't know who did it yet but at this point, even if they try to pin it on her, I don't think it'd make a difference. Those who've been hunting her since this damn war started will continue to do so regardless, and so will those who've been standing on her side," said Erik.
"Alfredino is a reason why I and many others are being hunted from all directions, so I'm not sad about it. I wouldn't be surprised if people think I killed him, I have a motive after all and people seem to think I went to London this morning. If we're being honest though, had he been in South Africa last night, he would have been killed there by one of us… but I think I know who did it."
"Ooh, do you think it's Andrew?" said Sebastian, looking at her while Frank gave her a drink.
"Yes, he told me his plans last year, remember?"
Mark sat on a stool by the kitchen island and watched with fascination the holographic communication.
"Pretty awesome technology, uh?" said Louis, who sat on the couch next to Rachel.
"Yeah, no kidding. Is it their equivalent of a cell phone?" said Mark.
"Yes, that's their normal way of communication," said Lizzy, sitting on the stool next to him.
"Do you think this war against your kind will end now that this guy is dead?" said Linda.
"He is one of those who instigated it, hopefully, it would," said Stephanie.
Frank counted how many people were at his apartment and ordered pizzas, sides and beverages for 15.
"Probably not because it's not just him. Elder Alfredino had it out for Blue, but this war is rooted far beyond him," said Erik.
"War has been brewing for decades before it started. Alfredino worked both sides and hoped she'd join the radicals' side, and tried to have her killed when she did not, but it's really not just him. This witch hunt is against those who are actively preventing radical groups from taking over power on a global scene," said Victoria.
"With Alfredino out of the landscape, there is hope that it'll gradually die out, but we need to take down all the roaches first before we can see the end of it and they are in every single one of our law enforcement institutions," said Sebastian.
"My dad said something about a joint mission tomorrow in northern Manitoba. Allegedly, a group of bad witches have kidnapped 15 people from local towns. His friends think if both sides work together to remove the real threat, it could help end the witch hunt. They struggled to believe what's being said and I don't think they're wrong," said Mark, getting up to pull a few beers out of the refrigerator.
"That's also what the CMMA elders think. They would have gotten involved anyway to take down the coven who kidnapped humans but agreed to work more closely with your fed police on this case to show them we never were the real threat. We always dealt with our bad ones. I'll be there tomorrow, so we'll see," said Coralis.
"You have to return to work tomorrow? You should be recovering at home for at least a week after everything you just went through," said Molly.
"Mages like her don't get to stop to recover and it doesn't matter if she isn't even working for them. It's one fight after another until it's over and sadly, it's far from being over," said Henry.
"Is it even safe for her to be seen by people in a position to capture her again just because they're expected to do so? I mean, her jailbreak is all over the news as if she was a serial killer," said Raymond.
"It will never be safe for her. They need her aerial skills for a crucial part of their mission. I was there when they asked her. They said they'll introduce her as B and no one has a clear picture of her, so we can only hope that even if they realize who she is, they'll be smart and turn a blind eye."
"Aerial skills?" said Erik.
"She's to lead the crew who'll escort helicopters to where the people are held and make sure the officers can safely bring them back," said Sebastian.
"Yeah okay, of course, they want her in, she's the best out there for that kind of stuff. Why do you think cockroaches like Alfredino want her dead so bad?" said Henry.
"Ooh, that's no small part. And she's top 10 for doing that type of stuff? Yeah, okay, if they know what's good for them, they'll leave you guys alone and end that damn witch hunt," said Mark.
Coralis ended the call shortly after when the food arrived.
"I have a request for you two," said Stephanie as Coralis was about to sit, pointing at Coralis and Sebastian.
Coralis and Sebastian looked at each other, confused. Stephanie sat on a folding chair near Frank and rotated it so she could face Sebastian and Coralis.
"Blue, the entire time you were in jail," continued Stephanie, "Frank nearly went nuts, but thankfully, he knew exactly what was going on because Sony could talk to you live through mind-link. Seb may not be on the wanted list, but we know too damn well that he isn't safe from capture. If it ever happens, I'd like you to tell me exactly what's going on."
"In other words, you want them to share a mind-link?" said Frank.
"Yes. They're each other emergency contact to us, they should have established one already, in my opinion. I trust them both."
"I agree with Steph, I must say. The past 2 weeks were hell to me, but I am beyond thankful that Blue had one with Sony and I know very well that even if she and Sebastian spend a lot of time together, it's either work-related or because of us, and they keep each other alive," said Frank, and pointed at them. "You always have each other's back to ensure you can both come home to us."
"Now that you put it that way, it makes us wonder why you didn't create one already. Stephanie and Frank aren't wrong," said Louis.
"I was wondering about that when Sebastian and Sonylla came a few days ago, why she could talk to Coralis telepathically but Sebastian couldn't, and I forgot to ask Frank after they left. Sonylla also received everything they did to Coralis, is it a side-effect of that kind of link?" said Mark.
"Especially when the heat rose against you and you started playing dodge-capture like pros, I think you should have created one. Why didn't you?" said Stephanie.
