"I told Blue Thunder to deal with Ylkyo however she pleased. He shamelessly lied to us through his teeth, and with what I saw in that compound, Ylkyo deserved a painful death," said High Elf Frizzo.
"Agreed, Ylkyo betrayed us all and deserved what happened to him. He knew how ashamed I was to see elves involved in the abomination of these experiments and the entire time he was spearheading the research behind them," said High Elf Yalor.
"There were six humans killed in that facility," High Elf Ellya.
"If they choose to do the work of the devil, they have to be willing to pay the price," said High Elf Frizzo.
Coralis listened to them silently. She was exhausted and wanted to go home, but she knew she had to stay until they would tell her she could leave. Even if she wasn't working for them, she was a mage guilty of killing six humans and a CMMA elder in a fit of rage.
"Let's all remember what led her to that compound in the first place. As per our elemental laws and customs applicable everywhere, the fact that they kidnapped her mate with the intent of using him as a test subject for their experiments justifies every single death caused by her hands that connects to it," said Whazk.
Coralis closed her eyes and folded her fingers into a fist upon hearing Whazk's description of what was about to happen before she stormed the compound where they found him.
"Blue, Frank is here with us beside you, and you killed them all before they did anything to him. It's over," said Sebastian through mind-link.
"Honestly, I would have done the same thing for Derek," said Sonylla through mind-link while Frank rubbed her knee.
"They need to take notes on what happens when they touch our mates," said Emery.
"Which would be true if they had completed the mating ritual," said High Fay Ellya.
"The mark on a human is a seal, and she wears his mark through her finger branding. If he weren't her mate, she would never have been able to feel his predicament and go straight to him following her end of their bond. I am satisfied that M. Frank McNally should be considered as Blue Thunder's mate," said High Elf Frizzo.
"Blue Thunder fought with the rage of someone whose mate was in a dire situation. The emotion behind her actions was unmistakable. In light of what I saw in there, her actions were justified," said High Goblin Glorisse.
"I will never forget what happened when we thought it was over. Three of the unconscious werewolves woke up, summoned by an elf who wasn't on site. Blue Thunder prevented more bloodshed than she caused. The dead humans brought it upon themselves, and Ylkyo deserved worse," said High Djinn Moraa.
"Very well, now, Blue Thunder, let's hear your account of what happened there and of what led you there," said High Mage Finnas.
"When I stood outside the Headquarters earlier, I felt pain. The moment I realized it came from the mate bond, I saw red, and I took off. I could only focus on finding where he was and getting to him as soon as possible. I blocked all mind-links. I couldn't get distracted. Sebastian followed me, but I didn't ask him to."
"Do you realize that you could have walked into a trap?" said High Fay Ellya.
"Yes, but I didn't care. Maybe I could have warned you, or at least the Shadow Elementals as I'm one of their members, but it seems that Sebastian did it for me, and I am thankful for that. When I got there, I'll admit, I was so overtaken by rage and anger that I wasn't discerning factions. I wanted to kill them all, especially when hearing about the kind of place he had been taken to and seeing what the scientists had been doing to others. I could only see what they were about to do to him."
"It was horrible, I couldn't believe what I saw when I searched their labs," said High Djinn Moraa.
"When I returned outside, I calmed down and set the entire compound on fire. Eva then told me about what the unconscious werewolves rescued from there had been injected with. I found Ylkyo's essence imprinted in fourteen of them, and another elf's essence in a human and the other three werewolves."
"Blue and I ran into their experiments often. Tonight, we demolished the source of them," said Eva.
"Frizzo told us you recognized the scent of the other elf's energy signature?" said High Mage Finnas.
"Correct. An elf I met 5 years ago. When these three werewolves woke up, High Elf Frizzo, Chiwa and Boukya restrained them as I overrode the summoning, like I've done the previous times Eva and I came across these experiments. I then fixed the connection between human and wolf after High Djinn Moraa, Eva and Emery dissolved the summoning spell on all of them."
"Thank you. That will be all for tonight. We will reconvene at another time, and we will let you know if disciplinary actions will be taken against you," said High Mage Finnas.
"You and your mate are welcome to stay the night in one of the guest rooms here if you wish," said High Elf Yalor.
"Thank you for your offer, but we will go to the shifter inn we were supposed to sleep tonight and decide from there what we will do next," said Coralis, getting up to leave.
She left the meeting room, followed by Frank, Sebastian and Eva.
"I killed about as many people in South Africa after escaping jail 3 months ago… granted if was divided with Alejandro… Matasia and Whazk also killed a few… and there were no humans," said Coralis once they made it outside.
"The elders said you killed more people in one blow than Andrew did the entire summer as The Rogue Paladin," said Eva, smirking. "Can we now hope that we won't come across that damn summoning spell anymore?"
"Holy gods from above, I wish! I don't even want to think about what they would try next! I swear, that spell gets worse every time we deal with it," said Coralis.
"Well, that was until they messed with the wrong one," said Sebastian, grabbing his stick to leave. "Blue must have burned for a lifetime's worth of research. You need a ride, Eva?"
"There is no way I'll arrange for a taxi to get to the inn we're going to, looking like we are now. If you don't mind, I'll fly us there," said Coralis to Frank after Sebastian left with Eva.
"It's fine. Somehow, I don't think the Halloween party excuse will cut it, and I don't want to spend the next few hours answering questions from another cell."
Before going to the inn, they made a stop at the pixie town nearby to get a change of clothes. She knew she'd have to call Liam to retrieve the luggage he, Sarah and Frank had at Dean's, but she wanted a shower and a drink first, and she wasn't sure if Liam had made it home. Soon after entering their room, before they went for a shower together, Coralis' phone rang, displaying an unknown number.
"I'm listening."
"Blue Thunder! The stunt you pulled last night landed you 3rd on our wanted list. Any truth to the rumours I heard about it?" said Dimitri on the other end of the line
