Sarah, Nade and the others were still flying. They had taken some break because Rick was the only one who could fly the helicopter. Due to his injury from the battle against the giant ghouls he was not in the best shape. Staying concentrated the whole time took its toll on him.
'You need another break?', Emilia demanded. She was sitting next to him while Nade and Sarah were having a nap in the back.
'I'm and we'll soon arrive. Look!' In the far there was a city- For their luck this city was known for his airport. They were right now flying over a forest
In the forest
'Everyone wake up!', a soldier bellowed, pointing to the heaven. 'A helicopter!' The others right away stared to the heaven. And as the soldier went on, a smile formed on his fac: 'This is not just any helicopter! I recognize it. An important person must be in there!' Dae rose to his legs and strolled to the edge of the forest, muttering:
'There must be a reason why they are flying there. It could be because they are looking for a shelter or … they need a plane!' With a speed too fast to follow he turned around to face the soldiers and commanded: 'We move! I'm not sure how many planes are at the airport. If they take the last one, there will be no way for us to escape!' And that's when the harsh hit them all. Dean was the first one to jog after the plane, not explaining anything further. However, everyone had gotten the message and followed, staying close to Dae who was at the front with Rayshel.
In the hospital
'Are you friend or foe?', Commander Nootra asked, viewing Seraphina, especially her eyes.
'It depends on you!' She turned towards Dean. For most soldiers she might have appeared defenseless at the moment but other, especially Commander Nootra knew this was not the case. That's why when some soldiers pointed their guns at Seraphina the commander ordered to stand back.
'Mom, what is happening here?', Dean asked. (Larah: Mom?) Larah struggled back to her legs, introducing herself:
'I am Larah, a friend of your son!'
'It is so?', the mother demanded, giving Larah a grin. 'My pleasure to meet you. And you Dean we must leave! I have some things to tell you!'
'I can't leave now!', Dean replied. 'I must save Hope!'
'Hope!', the mother repeated. And Larah joined the conversation:
'Yes, Hope. She is our … a child we saved. She was taken by the enemy!'
'I see!', the mother uttered, standing up and also helping Dean up. 'How can you be sure she's alive? And do you even know where she was taken?'
'We do!', Sark replied, emerging from an intersection behind he group. 'John took her to America! Why? We don't know!' Jessie jostled her way through the group till she stopped before Dean.
'Did you say John? But … but he's dead!' Sark shook her head.
'He's kind of alive. You could say a zombie!' Veins popped up on Jessie's body. They were the strongest on her arm holding the ax. And just then she smashed that ax in the wall next to her, cursing:
'That fucking bitch! She did that to him! I will kill her! I will kill her! Arghhhhh' – Seraphina placed her palm on Jessie's head, stroking it.
'Don't let hate consume you! Now that you are wielding a weapon with a demon's energy negative emotion could get amplified. And before you know it, you will turn to a beast. I hope you are all aware of it', her voice rose as she gazed at the soldiers, 'of the that! To the others who managed to make the demon or angel's power their own, interesting. However, how many have died in that process? To say the truth I have to marvel how many immune ones are here. I doubt there are much left!'
'Why?', Commander Nootra asked.
'Because immune ones are not people who were just lucky. Now you all come from a family. A family that back in the day hunted demons and angels!'
'Wait!', the commander said, trying to digest everything, but it was a lot. 'You said you wanted to go. Can this wait? And then maybe you could explain to us what is happening right now!' The mother glanced to Dean and inquired:
'So you want to go to America?'
'Yes!'
'Ok, I will come with you and then we can save Hope. As a matter of fact I had planned to visit America after checking on you!'
'I assume for the same reasons as us!', Nicole joined. 'Everywhere on the plane altars appeared and the biggest one is in America. That altar must have a meaning wouldn't you say Miss…'
'Call me Seraphina. Well, seems like we have the same goal then, for now at least. Then it's time to clarify some things!'
Somewhere
'Where are we heading by the way?', Ezra wanted to know. He peered behind over his shoulders to the ghouls. 'And why are we taking this people with us?'
'This people are immune ones!', Ezra replied. 'I was given the task to form an alliance with the light priest!'
'Why? By whom?'
'By the King of the Demons himself. Seems like he has a pact with the Queen of the Angels. So I will offer this humans as a present to the light priests. You see to open the gate to the demon world and angel word we need immune ones. But opening the gate to the demon world does not mean that the gate to the angel world will also open. Meaning both sides need sacrifices. That's also the reason why we fought because back in the day there were not a lot of immune ones. They were hard to find and even harder to create. Now we know that there exist more immune ones than in the past!'
'And what is the reason for it?'
'Well, it easy. Back then the power and blood was only passed down in the family. That kept the blood pure. But seems like after we were locked away they didn't care about this anymore. The blood spread. Yes it's not so pure anymore but that will do!'
'Still a little bit confusing! Where are these light priests then?'
'In America and that's where we are heading!'
