Anna stared at the top of the stairs. The door was made of steel. She knew that not even the strength of a werewolf could break it down.
"We need to find another way out."
Adonis pointed at her, the camera on, without anyone but her being able to understand.
"Did you tell Adam where we were going?"
"Of course. He doesn't need me to tell him, Anna."
"Then he'll come to our rescue. I just hope it's not a trap."
The door finally opened, and Bonnie came down the stairs and faced Anna, who stared at her in surprise.
"What is it?" she asked when she saw Anna's inquiring look. "I ran away from the hospital. Why the surprise, Anna? Or is it just fear, that I'll do this..." She said, pointing to her face with its horrible scar. "... With you?"
"How did you recover so quickly?" Anna couldn't believe that Adam would risk giving the healing water to that woman.
"Ah, Anna! I guess you haven't read any of the books your poor mother left you, have you? Well, Sarah did. Every page, every line. And she had me served a potion at the hospital." Bonnie said and rolled her eyes. When Anna became even more intrigued. "Yes, the ingredients are disgusting, but it worked. And since I still have the loyalty of some men, I heard that Sarah was being tortured, and look what a coincidence! Just where, I used to torture people for Adam... Looks like we're not so different after all. And put down those guns. I'm not here to hurt you."
Anna stared at her in amazement. What was going on in there?
"Where's Sarah?
"I'm looking after her. She'll be fine soon, and ready to go back to tormenting your life."
Anna exchanged a glance with Adonis. He lowered his gun, but Anna kept hers pointed at Bonnie. She couldn't leave Sarah alive. And at that moment, she didn't want to leave Bonnie alive, either.
"I'll finish the job Ian started if you don't tell me where you've hidden her." Anna's voice was that of someone who was willing to make good on her threat.
"She's here!" Caricature's voice rang out, and Bonnie flashed a smile at Anna, as Adam came down the stairs, accompanied by a weakened Sarah, and several werewolves behind him.
"What are you doing here, with her?" Anna sensed that there was something very wrong there.
Adam arched an eyebrow.
"Adonis sent me a message. But I was already here... If he had called, as you suggested, you would have heard the sound of my cell phone ringing."
"You set all this up for me?" Anna said, lowering the gun and letting the tears roll down her cheeks, letting everyone see the disappointment on her face.
"No, Anna. It was Bonnie's idea. She put a spell on you to make you feel attracted to this place, and I bet her that you wouldn't come. Apparently, I lost the bet. What a shame, don't you think?"
"Bonnie's only human, she doesn't have the power to do a spell. Not for someone like... Me." Anna said, knowing that her words were real.
"But Sarah is a witch. You underestimated her. They did it together."
"And what do you intend with that? Are you going to lock me in here and torture me?"
"Who do you think I am?" He asked, and stepped closer, took the gun out of Anna's hand, and without warning, shot Sarah in the forehead, who fell over, her eyes wide with surprise. "I've come to save you." He said, and handed the gun back to her, leaving Anna even more confused. "Adonis, call the other men, and plant this body right here on the property."
"What about Bonnie?"
"She has a story to tell you. Let's go upstairs." Adam said, and wrapped his arms around Anna's waist, and escorted her to the kitchen, where they all sat down.
"I don't want to hear what that woman has to say." Anna said, crossing her arms.
"Don't be childish, Anna. I won't be long." Bonnie said with an amused smile.
"Please." Anna replied sarcastically.
"As I said, your friend Sarah sent me a potion, and one of Adam's men poured a glass into my mouth every day. Of course, Adam was aware of this. She asked one of the men to bring me here to free her. And it turns out that I felt I owed her a favor, and to make it up to her, I took her away from where you left her... However, I didn't sympathize with her, and I didn't want her alive either. But I wanted the spell book that she had stolen from her mother. And after she told me where it was, it became useless. So I asked some of Adam's men to bring it to me... Can you believe that she drilled holes in the wall of the room she occupied to hide it? Well, that's the story. Adam came here, fearing that I would do something against you, and ordered me to let you go. Of course, he killed all the men who still had loyalty to me. And now I'm going to live in a luxurious apartment that Adam lent me, so that he can visit me regularly, while you, whether you accept it or not, will be captive in his house forever. And just one more detail, which I think is important for you to know. The apartment I'm in belongs to Ian. Poetic, don't you think?"
Anna didn't mind. Her son was already heir to an immense fortune, he didn't need a single penny of Adam's money.
"Where's my mother's book?"
"You'll never get it, Anna."
"Dad can get that information out of you."
Bonnie stood up.
"I'd love to see him try. Send him after me, Anna, and it won't just be your mother's book that you'll never see again." Bonnie said threateningly, and left.
Anna turned indignantly to Adam.
"Where is your loyalty? How could you set me up like this? I should have been suspicious when Adonis said you allowed him to take me wherever I wanted to go. I saw his eyes turn yellow and... You're a werewolf. I would never have left that room without you watching my every breath and movement."
