The immortal chakra emitted by the insect had the remarkable ability to fully repair damaged cells. If the chakra was abundant enough, it could even rejuvenate cells, reversing the aging process.
Sasuke's impaired vision resulted from excessive use of his Mangekyō Sharingan, which overtaxed his ocular power and damaged his visual cells.
When Shigeo Aburame handed him several blood immortal insects, they entered his body and began to rapidly repair the damage to his visual cells using their rebounding immortal chakra.
The effects of the immortal chakra were almost immediate.
As the repair progressed, Sasuke could distinctly feel his previously sore and swollen eyes becoming warm and comfortable, as if countless tiny hands were gently massaging his eyeballs. The previous discomfort quickly vanished.
When he opened his eyes again, his once blurry vision had cleared up significantly.
"This is unbelievable..."
Sasuke gasped, his mouth falling open in amazement.
At that moment, Shigeo's slightly amused voice reached his ears.
"Ha ha... Not bad, right? So, Sasuke, how does it feel? Can you see clearly now?"
"..."
Hearing Shigeo's concerned tone, Sasuke felt a warm sense of gratitude in his heart.
He wanted to say "thank you," but the words that came out were entirely different.
"Hmph, don't think that just because you did this, I'll forgive you!"
"Uh…"
Shigeo's smile froze on his face. Adjusting his sunglasses with a hint of guilt, he tried to defend himself.
"I'm not sure what you're talking about. What could I possibly have done to upset you?"
"Hmph, you know very well what you did!"
With another cold snort, Sasuke turned and walked away, ignoring Shigeo's guilty expression.
Watching Sasuke's retreating figure, Shigeo fell into deep thought.
"Could it be that he found out about me pretending to be Itachi with a clone? No, that doesn't seem right. If he knew, he wouldn't be this calm... Could it be he discovered I drew blood from him?"
While Shigeo pondered, a voice rang in his mind.
"Hey, Shigeo, your abilities are fascinating. You can fuse parasitic insects with other materials, almost like Yin-Yang Release."
"Yin-Yang Release?" Shigeo chuckled at the mention of the term, shaking his head. "Not quite."
Yin-Yang Release, a secret technique of the Sage of Six Paths, was an ability to create something from nothing and bestow life.
In the original storyline, Naruto used Yin-Yang Release to create an eye for Kakashi and save Might Guy's life.
Shigeo's synthesis ability couldn't create something from nothing. Even existing materials required precise combinations for successful synthesis.
However, this didn't make it inferior to Yin-Yang Release.
While Yin-Yang Release had its limits, synthesis abilities offered limitless possibilities, as long as the right materials were available.
At least for now, Shigeo's synthesis ability showed no clear boundaries.
"If I use this ability well, perhaps one day, I could surpass the Sage of Six Paths," Shigeo thought with a smile.
"Heh, maybe I'm dreaming too big. At my current level, I can't even beat Madara Uchiha, let alone the Sage of Six Paths. I have a lot of work ahead of me!"
"Let's work together!"
The voice of Reming echoed in his mind once more.
"You can use me for experiments—try creating a new chakra-based lifeform. If you succeed, you'll be closer to the Sage of Six Paths!"
"Use you?"
Shigeo was momentarily taken aback but then shook his head with a smile.
"No way. You're my partner. I can't use you as a test subject."
"It's fine. There's no harm in trying."
As Reming spoke, it released a small amount of chakra that flowed out through Shigeo's pathways, forming a miniature version of itself, no bigger than a palm.
"Here, try it out!"
The tiny Reming encouraged him.
"This is just a fragment of my chakra, only a fraction of my power. Use it to merge with one of your bugs. Go ahead."
"Well… alright!"
Seeing how insistent Reming was, Shigeo reluctantly took out a blood insect and placed it near the miniature Reming.
"Synthesize!"
As he focused his thoughts, a white light enveloped both the miniature Reming and the blood insect.
*Pop!*
With a burst of light, the miniature Reming remained intact, but the blood insect was left shattered into fragments.
"Failure!"
Shigeo sighed, spreading his hands in defeat.
"The power of a Tailed Beast is too wild. The blood insect couldn't withstand it."
"Then try one that can," Reming suggested. "Use the one with natural energy!"
"The immortal insect?"
Shigeo considered it briefly before nodding.
"Alright, let's give that a shot!"
He retrieved a Wood Release immortal insect and placed it alongside the miniature Reming for synthesis.
White light flashed again.
This time, Shigeo watched as the two insects merged within the glow.
When the light faded, a peculiar insect emerged: it had the head of a parasitic bug, the body of a locust, and the wings of a dragonfly.
"Is this a success?"
Shigeo was initially delighted, but then he frowned.
"But it's so large. How am I supposed to incorporate it into my body?"
As the thought crossed his mind, the strange insect transformed into a streak of red light and shot into his body.
Then, Reming's astonished voice rang out.
"I can't sense the consciousness of my fragment anymore. Incredible! You've truly created a chakra-based lifeform!"
"..."
Shigeo was stunned as well. He didn't recover from his shock until the insect began to emit a vast amount of immortal chakra into his system.
"This is definitely my Wood Release immortal insect, but its immortal chakra carries your aura, Reming. Let's call it the Reming Immortal Insect!"
Hearing the name, Reming grew excited.
"That's a great name! I love it! Let me see if I can make it replicate... Huh?"
Reming suddenly hesitated, then spoke again with a hint of frustration.
"It can't replicate. Strictly speaking, it's no longer an insect."
"No longer an insect?" Shigeo frowned. "Then what is it?"
"A Tailed Beast!"
