Zane's POV~
Simon didn't speak. He simply stepped out of the car, closed the door behind him, and came around to my side. Without a word, he opened my door and extended his hand to help me out.
I hesitated just for a moment but then placed my hand in his. His grip was cool but steady, grounding in a way I hadn't expected.
We walked toward the bungalow together. The front door was already unlocked. Simon pushed it open and stepped aside to let me enter first.
Inside, the living room was striking.
The walls were painted white, and golden furniture decorated the space. It was minimalist yet luxurious. The room was quiet. No hum of machines, no chatter. Just the chirping of birds outside and the soft rustle of wind through nearby trees.
There was no one else here. No maids. No guards. No butlers.
Just me and Simon.
How could anyone live in a place like this? So far from civilization? With no servants, no protection, and nothing but the wild forest as your neighbor?
