"It seems you have not heard that I have become a Castro, and this is my home you stand in. While I respect Lady Tabitha, I question her judgment to send a maid who is so rude to disobey what the lady of this home says," said Penelope.
"You will not find any work here. Lady Tabitha might have sent you, but this is my home, where my word matters more. I am being polite now to let you leave on your own accord, but that might quickly turn to having the guards escort you out," Penelope said, on the verge of doing the latter.
Penelope got what she wanted from meeting Ines. She saw with her eyes how angry Tabitha was to send a maid who didn't know how to be polite. Now that she knew how low Tabitha could stoop, Penelope was going to be guarded each time she was unfortunate to be near Tabitha.
