Chapter 10 - Battle for the Bread Hills Pt. II

When the smoke cleared, an entire section of the forest was gone with a massive crater in their place. In the middle was the Savage Dracon with its wing-arms holding a severely injured Furious Rajang, who was limp and unresponsive save for a few coughs. For good measure, he stabs him in the chest again before proceeding to toss him away. Furious Rajang rolled across the ground several times before stopping on his back, not moving before a dark blue flash occurs and he reverts back to Jack Andros, who stabs wounds all over his chest and blood leaking from his mouth.

The Savage Dracon roars out in the heavens, having defeated its adversary and asserting his dominance as the strongest monster of Olga's army. With that, it flew out of the cave and began to march towards the Bread Hills where there's hundreds of innocents to kill and cripple the food supplies.

There was no need to kill the human as it sense the life slowly fading from his body. After all, nothing could've survived such fatal wounds. That said, its healing factor was also pushed to its limit and would take a long time to for it to return to the way it was.

The crowd gasp in horror as they witness the Savage Dracon seemingly claim victory over the MOnster Shifter, who was bleeding out and lying there helplessly. Many commoners and knights bowed their heads in respect and honor for the fallen boy. Marie and Anne were disheartened to see the person who rescued them on Death's door.

The nobles, on the other hand, were a mixed bag. Some were saddened that such a promising person would, while others were silently cheering for his demise as he could no longer interfere with their plans or challenge their authority over the commonfolk. Others simply lamented that they their daughters lost a potential bloodline to sire to increase their household's reputation.

With the Seven Shields Alliance, they were too saddened by Jack's defeat. Prim's eyes watered as she witness her savior about to die with Alicia and Maia comforting her. Luu-Luu gulped at the sheer power the Savage Dracon had demonstrated with Kaguya saying prayers to her God. Claudia frowned at how Olga's monster seemingly claim another life as Celestine lowered her head in sorrow.

"Celestina-sama!" Irene came into the balcony with several mages following suit. "We've managed to assemble our army in preparation to fight the Savage Dracon and our mages have managed to prepare a spell to teleport all of them to the Bread Hills.

"Make haste, we cannot allow the Bread Hills to be destroyed." Celestine ordered and Irene bowed and began to discuss with the mages. The Goddess Reborn turns her focus to the down Jack in the orb.

"Your efforts won't be in vain, Jack." She bowed her her slightly, thanking the Monster Shifter who bought them time to gather their forces. She swore to avenge him for all the efforts he'd done to Eostia when they failed and make the Savage Dracon.

"And so another one falls." Olga commented as she watched the outcome of the battle.

She was amazed that a lone human was able to push the Savage Dracon to its limits. In the end, though, the Monster Shifter was soundly defeated.

A shame, she'd hope to bring Jack to her side. But at least she still has the Savage Dracon to use against the Seven Shield Alliance.

"D-Damn it....." There were no words to describe the pain Jack Andros was feeling as he laid there on the crater, blooding pouring out as he coughed, his vision obscured by dirt and blood. Every part of his body was bruised beyond belief and even just breathing hurts like hell. He could barely comprehend the fact his MonTrix was beeping furiously as it tried to find a suitable Monster to stabilize its user and keep him alive. He knew that he had nothing on his arsenal that could possibly heal such fatal wounds in his human form compared to Ben's.

And yet, no matter how much pain he's in, he won't allow this pull him down. He'd failed his village from Khyber by not being strong enough. He refuses to let the innocents from the Bread Hills be killed and their food supplies destroyed. A ding from the MonTrix reaches his ears, signaling that it found something. However his vision was too blurry from the pain to even bother seeing what it chose and decided that anything would do.

"C-Come on..... come on....." Ignoring the pain with every move and biting back a scream, Jack slowly, painfully, but surely raises his MonTrix arm up in the air. And with a roar, slams it on the ground, praying that the Monster the MonTrix had chosen for him would be strong enough to contend with the Savage Dracon.

He was soon consumed by a dark blue flash once again, only this time it was much bigger than before.

The bright flash caught everyone's attention as they turn back to the orb, where they witness jack transforming. Many saw their hopes reignited and prayed to Larentia, thinking the Goddess had given the Monster Shifter a second win to deal with the Savage Dracon.

Olga's eyes widened as she witnessed it as well, curious as to watch the Monster Shifter will bring out to deal with the Savage Dracon.

The Savage Dracon stops in its tracks when it saw the all familiar flash, snarling as it thought that Jack was gonna bleed to death. Now it sensed that was a mistake and was determine to make sure its opponent is permanently dead. But just as he turns around and finish what it started. It froze at what it saw and actually stepped back in fear.

And for good reason, as a giant clawed hand emerged from the massive crater, followed by another one until whatever that came out of the crater was full view for the Savage Dracon and the people watching.

In Jack's place was a massive gargantuan beast with blue skin and brown ridges all over its body that serve as vents as energy expels out from them and five spikes sticking out of the tail. Additionally it had six limbs with each having five claws, the back being vestigial to help it climb massive walls. The most noticeable feature, however, was its mouth which splits into four segments and reveal its barbed tongue and teeth that looked like hooks. The MonTrix symbol seen proudly on its upper left chest.

"GAISMAGORM!" The Archdemon of the Abyss rears his body up and bellows, his jaw splitting in four directions to reveal the grotesque yet unique design of his mouth.

The crowd gasped and screamed at the sight of the massive Elder Dragon towering above the dragon. It was unlike anything they've ever seen before. It looked more demonic than even the Savage Dracon.

"Holy shit!" Maia shouted, falling on her ass in shock. She wasn't the only one as the other Shield Princesses too are stunned by what they're seeing, though Celestine felt some relieve to know that Jack was back to fight against his opponent.

Olga nearly dropped her staff in shock as she saw Jack transform into the Gaismagorm. The Elder Dragon looked like it came from the deepest pits of hell and escaped, yet not even she could recall something that big and monstrous in her lifespan. Not even the history books from Garan's library had information on demons or monsters that come close to Gaismagorm.

(Resume Game Over at 1:55)

"NOW. I'M. FUCKING. MAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAD!" Fueled by his desire to protect the people in the Bread Hills and vengeance against the Savage Dracon, Gaismagorm roars with unbridled rage, his body turned crimson red and the vent-like structures releases massive amount of red energy that crystallized on on his body that give him an even more intimidating appearance.

If his normal form already gives off demon vibes, then Gaismagorm's rage mode made him looked like the Devil had came out to play and decided that the Savage Dracon would become his plaything.

He raised his upper right arm and clenches his clawed hand as he throws it for a punch. In response, the Savage Dracon created a multi-layered shield so tough that nothing short of Celestine's magic can break it. But to its horror, the barriers are instantly shattered and the moment Gaismagorm made contact with its face it was followed by a huge red explosion that sends it flying off.

Not giving his opponent time to recover, Giasmagorm's upper arms dug deep into the ground and created boulders to hurl it at the Savage Dracon, pinning it between them. Roaring, the Savage Dracon broke free with its wing-arms before firing multiple black energy balls from it, all honing in on the Elder Dragon. The projectiles struck him in the face, arms and upper back, but beyond the red crystals being broken, Gaismagorm is unfazed.

Now seeing its chances diminishing, the panicking Savage Dracon rushes forward with its left wing-arm forming an energy blade long enough to reach his face and hoping to make a deep cut or even blind the Elder Dragon. But Gaismagorm's upper arms provide superior range and throws another mean hook that shatters its wing-arm and lands on its face a second time, knocking it intp several trees. Gaismagorm saw the red crystals that were once on his body as armor scattered all around and thought of a plan. But first he needed to distract the Savage Dracon and he knew one way how.

"COME TO ME, MY QURIO!" Gaismagorm rears his head up and roars out to the skies as he summons his allies to the fight. Sure enough, hundreds, if not, thousands of flying red leeches emerged from the forest and hovered around Gaismagorm. With a single command, the Qurio then converge on the recovering Savage Dragon and began swarming it. At first it was confused until it felt pain upon thousands of teeth cutting into it and its magic reserves being sucked out of it and realized the Qurio are draining it of both its life and magic.

Roaring in anger and pain it unleashes every magic attack it knows, be it flames, energy blades, energy blasts and ice, killing thousands of Qurio in the process. But it seems their numbers were endless. Every Qurio killed was replaced by three or more as they latched unto their target and began draining the life out of it while occupying it to distract their host, who opens his mouth and began to swallow the red crystals that were littered began to power himself up, causing the energy being dispersed from the vents to emit a flame-like aura resembled flaming wings.

The Qurio that already had their fill detached to fly towards Gaismagorm's back and began to empower it, making him stronger than ever. Setting his sight on the Savage Dracon, the Archdemon of the Abyss opens his mouth and began to charge up a powerful breath attack while mentally commanding the Qurio to get out of the way. They obeyed his command and scattered which confused the Savage Dracon until it notice Gaismagorm charging up an attack.

Panicking, it opens its mouth and fires the same breath attack it used against Crimson Glow Valstrax and even its remaining wing-arm to add more power. However, Gaismagorm lurches forward and unleashes his Qurio-fueled energy beam. The two beams travelled for a short while and slam into each other. However, the stalemate lasts for ten seconds before the Savage Dracon's was quickly overpowered and struck the dragon with intense force, making it roar in agony as the beam drags it across the ground and collided with a giant rock which is eventually destroyed when the breath attack ended with a massive explosion.

The Savage Dracon emerges from the rubble bleeding heavily. It had cuts all over its body from both Gaismagorm's attacks and the Qurio and left wing-arm mangled beyond repair. It's healing factor had been pushed to the limit and unless he can kill more people, the Savage Dracon is going to die and it knew. Yet it had one more trick up its sleeve.

It begins to channel all of its remaining magic into create a massive purple and black energy ball above its head, which dwarfed even Gaismagorm in size. The Elder Dragon growls as he prepares to tank the attack. However, the Savage Dracon paused for a bit and in a split moment, he swore a smirk came to its lip before it turn and throws to to the side and began to make its escape. Gaismagorm was puzzled before his eyes widened in horror as he eyed the sphere that was making its way towards the two mountain hills. The Savage Dracon made one last attempt to destroy the Bread Hills while fleeing!

"NO!" He roared as he began to gallop towards the same direction, his upper arms providing huge leaping strides as he rushes towards the energy ball in the hopes of stopping it. Once he was ahead enough, Gaismagorm rears upper body up and upper arms outstretched forward to catch the energy ball to prevent it from reaching its destination. He was slowly pushed back due to his his lowers legs not being designed to gripping on flat horizontal surfaces. Immediately thousands of surviving Qurio arrived and joined their host in his attempt to protect him. Eventually however, the Elder Dragon is overpowered and is seen roaring as the energy sphere strikes him and the Qurio instead, consuming him in a bright flash of purple as the flying leeches are incinerated too.

Had anyone paid close attention though, they would notice another blue flash consume the Elder Dragon.....

When the smoke clears and the flash died down, all that was left of Gaismagorm was smoke from where he stood. The Savage Dracon, badly injured but alive, sees that Jack is nowhere to be found and gave out a roar, thinking it had finally killed Jack. Satisfied, it turns towards the Bread Hills to fulfill its task-

Only for a clawed hand to grab it by the throat and slammed into the ground catching it off-guard. Coughing, it focuses on what or who had ambushed it and its eyes widened in shock.

Gaismagorm is now a equally massive red dragon with a tan underside and wing webbings. It has two horns on its head and more spikes running down from its neck all the way down to its tail and the scales were rigid to the touch. It looked like your average fantasy dragon, but what it lacked in design, it makes up for it with power and the all-familiar MonTrix symbol on the right side of its chest speaks volume on who it was.

"SAFI'JIIVA!" The Red Elder Dragon roared as he pins the Savage Dracon down with his clawed hand before raising it by the head and repeatedly slamming it down before a final throw embeds it into the ground as Safi'jiiva takes flight. Once high enough, he spews a torrent of blue flames down unto the ground as he prepares to unleash his ultimate move.

Fifteen seconds passed before he drops two seemingly small energy spheres towards the Savage Dracon. The pinned Savage Dracon looks confused and insulted at the seemingly pathetic display. After everything it was supposed to die from something as insignificant as-

"Sapphire of the Emperor!" Was the last thing the Savage Dracon heard Safi'jiiva declared before the two small energy spheres made contact with the ground suddenly erupted, the explosion similar to a nuclear bomb going off as the attack covers the whole battlefield. The Savage Dracon roared as the energy nuke consumes it and its voice muffled by the blast.

The light simmers down and once the soke clears, the vast majority of the trees were vaporized from the resulting explosion and the ground scorched form the intense heat. But the one that suffered the most damage was the Savage Dracon. Its body was burned beyond recognition with its mouth open as if still screaming.

Safi'jiiva descends from the air and inspects the corpse with caution, as if to sense it was still alive. A few seconds passed before realizing and roars out with his wings spread.

The Savage Dracon was finally dead.

Safi'jiiva gave a huge sigh of relief as he relaxed from such a long and intense battle. He planted both his clawed hands at the ground and begin to absorb the bioenergy beneath him, healing his wounds as good as new. Normally, doing so would result in affected area becoming a wasteland. However, when the MonTrix transformed Jack into the Elder Dragon, he detected incomprehensible levels of bioenergy from his surroundings. He figured that there was so much magic in Eostia that eventually some would merge with the environment.

Once the healing was done, Safi'jiiva slaps the MonTrix symbol and reverts back to Jack, got to one knee exhausted after his bout. He checked his shirt to reveal the stab wounds were gone. "Time to go back I guess." He said to himself as he made his way back to Stawford Village with noticeable limps with each stride.
