The first day of the new term arrived, buzzing with excitement and anticipation. The summer holidays was finally over. Students were reuniting with friends and sharing stories of their summer adventures, while others hurried off to their classrooms, eager to start the new academic year.
In the crowd, two figures stood out , Jovan and Jason always together, they walked side by side, their presence being noticed as usual as they walked through the school gates, and soon, a wave of attention followed them. their have this irresistible charm that drew peoples attention.
Jovan and Jason were the most admired students at Springfield Highschool, not just for their intelligence but also for their good looks. They were so handsome that it was hard to choose. Mostly, female students Whispers and stare at them wherever they went. Some girls couldn't help but giggle and whisper to each other, while others waved or smile their way. A few seemed to be going crazy as they walk pass them, their hearts racing at the mere sight of the two.
despite all the attention, Jovan and Jason moved through the school Casually as if they were not the one being admired by the students. They have become use to it that it doesn't effect them anymore.
As they made their way toward the corridor leading to their class, they exchanged a few words, mostly talking about summer holiday.
But the calm of the day was soon shattered.
The sound of footsteps echoed down the hallway, growing louder as the two friends approached the corner. Suddenly, round the bend ahead of them was Mr. Benjamin the mathematics teacher. A man in his late forties, with a few gray hair and a stern expression.
Mr. Benjamin was a well-known figure at the school, known for his no-nonsense approach. He was the kind of teacher who placed a high value on punctuality and precision, expecting nothing less from his students, no matter their social standing.
"Jovan and Jason" Benjamin's Voice resounded through the corridor and the boys froze. "Why are you walking so slowly? The bell is about to ring, and class is starting soon. You should be running to the classroom, not walking around like you are in a park."
=========
The entrance to the school buzzed once more as a car engine roared through the school gate, grabbing everyone's attention, including Jovan, Jason and Mr. Benjamin. Students scattered all around and whispering excitedly as the vehicle came to a halt. The doors swung open, revealing three figures who instantly captivated the crowd.
The trio was none other than the well-known friends in the school. Sophia, Lisa and Angela.
Angela was the first to step out of the car, she has an average hight with short black hair and calm personality. followed by Lisa, the life of the party, her sweet laughter ringing across the place. She has a long black hair and a beautiful smile. then there was Sophia a noticable presence who commanded respect and admiration from anyone who looked her way. Known as "the Queen" she is the number one beauty in the school. She has a beautiful delicate figure and a pretty looking face, not only that. she comes from one of the wealthiest families in the city.
As the trio walked down the hallways, students couldn't help but admire, as Whispers followed behind them. But despite the attention from the students Sophia was oblivious to her surrounding, her mind seems to be somewhere else, thinking about something or rather, someone far more important than the admiring gazes of the students.
Her eyes scanned the hallway until they landed on two figures in the distance.
Jovan and Jason stood with their backs to her as they engage in a conversation with the math teacher.
Sophia felt her heart flutter a bit, and a smile slowly appeared on her face. It had been weeks since the last time she saw him.
Sophia had always had her eyes on Jovan, but it seemed like he was deliberately avoiding her. Despite her popularity, wealth, and beauty.
there was one thing Sophia craved more than anything else, and that is Jovan's attention.
Yet, no matter how hard she tried, he had never payed attention to her in the way she wanted. Every time their paths crossed, and their eyes met, it felt like there was an invisible barrier between them. It was as if he couldn't or wouldn't see her.
As Jovan and Jason noticed Sophia walking towards them, Jason gave Jovan a teasing smile.
"What are you two looking at!!!? and why are you even smiling?... Mr. Benjamin shouted.... "I'm not done talking.
Jovan and Jason exchanged a quick glance as their straightened their back. They were used to Mr. Benjamin strictness, but his sudden outburst still surprised them. Everyone knew Mr. Benjamin had a reputation for being tough, and some even said his temper could turn the most confident student into a cooked potatoes. But Jovan and Jason wasn't the type to be intimidated with yells and angry glares.
They simply nodded in understanding without a hint of nervousness.
Sophia continued walking toward them, accompanied by Lisa and Angela who smiled politely at the students. But Sophia's focus was solely on Jovan, the crowd parted in slow motion, making a way for her as she gracefully walked through the corridor.
"We will hurry along, sir".... Jovan said politely.
Mr. Benjamin was not in the mood for pleasantries. He held his gaze on them for a while, his sharp eyes scanning their faces as if searching for any hint of disrespect.
Feeling satisfied that they weren't going to challenge him, he gave a quick nod and glanced over at Sophia and her two friends making their way toward them.
"Make sure you do"...he muttered before turning and walking toward the Staff room.
Jovan and Jason stood frozen for a moment as they watched him disappear down the hall, The tension that had filled the air earlier soon disappeared.
"Well, that was a great welcome for the new term"... Jovan said with a smile.
Jason chuckled, shaking his head..."Yeah, if that's what we got for walking too slowly, I can only imagine what would happen if we were are late for class."
Jason looked over his shoulders and spotted Sophia still approaching them with quick steps..."She's here," he whispered to Jovan with a smile spreading across his face. Jovan expression turned ugly and he began to walk ahead.
"Jovan"... Sophia called out excitedly.
Jovan turned to look at her. "Oh....hey, you are here"... he said as he waved at her and continued walking toward the classroom without wasting time or giving her much attention.
A complicated expression appeared on Sophia's beautiful face as she watched Jovan walk away.
You!.. what did you just do? That's so embarrassing!" Jason said as he hurried after Jovan who was already walking ahead without looking back.
"What do you want me to do?. Hug her? Or carry her to the classroom?" Jovan said, raising an eyebrow.
"Of course! That would be more like it!" Jason replied excitedly.
"You are crazy"... Jovan said, barely paying him any attention
Hahahaha! Jason's laughter echoed through the hallway as they hurried toward their classroom, the noise of the students continue resounding through the school.
The start of a new term always brought a sense of change and growth. While others worried about the lessons ahead or the workload that will soon be crashing down on them.
The bell rang, signaling the start of the first lesson of the term. The Two finally walked into their classroom.. leaving Sophia standing at the corridor with a frustrated expression on her face.
