Tristan had intended to spend his Sunday in an orderly fashion. First he would introduce Ariel to his family. Once that was done, he would take her home. Go to his penthouse, hole himself up in his study, and spend a few hours working.
The first part of that plan had gone accordingly. Tristan had set up the virtual meeting, and his family had shown up, and met Ariel.
Had things ended there, Tristan would have counted the whole thing as success. But unfortunately, they had not. The meeting with his family had been awful. Not for him who was used to that behavior, but for Ariel.
Tristan had done his best to reign in his temper when telling his family to back off. But in truth, he had wanted to lash out. Had Ariel not been there, he would have made sure that everybody got the tongue-lashing of a lifetime for daring to disrespect her like that.
