Seleyena sprinted through the hall, her heels clacking in frantic rhythm, breath ragged, chest heaving with panic. Her glasses slid down her nose, fogged with heat, but she didn't care.
She bumped into a nurse, stumbled against the wall, almost fell—but kept going.
'Accident… they said it was an accident—what if he's in critical condition? What if he's unconscious?'
Her heart squeezed painfully. She didn't even know the details. She hadn't asked. Just heard the word accident, heard Cruxius, and everything inside her shattered into chaos.
