~Alex's POV
Bella was warm against me, her breath coming in soft, shaky exhales as I traced slow patterns against her skin. Her fingers dug into my shoulders, holding me close, as if she didn't want to let go, and honestly, neither did I. The way she looked at me, her lips slightly parted, her cheeks flushed, it was enough to make me forget everything else in the world. I wanted more of her, every inch, every soft sound, every shiver.
Then my phone rang.
I ignored it at first, trailing my lips down her neck, and feeling her pulse quicken beneath my touch. But then it rang again, vibrating insistently on the table nearby. With a frustrated sigh, I pulled away just enough to glance at the screen. Luca.
Damn it.
I knew Luca wouldn't call unless it was important, so with reluctance, I ran a hand through my hair and sat up. Bella groaned softly in protest, her fingers tightening on my arm.
"Who is it?" she murmured, her voice still laced with the heat of our moment.
