I stared at Callahan, my fists clenched by my sides. He sat there, tied to the chair, his face already swollen from the previous beating. His right eye was nearly shut, a deep cut above his brow still dripping blood. His lips trembled as he darted his eyes around the dimly lit room, searching for an escape, but there was none. He was trapped.
I took a slow step forward, my footsteps echoing in the silence. Without warning, I swung hard, landing a solid punch across his jaw. His head snapped violently to the side, a strangled groan escaping his lips. The chair creaked beneath him as his body jerked from the force. Blood dribbled from the corner of his mouth, staining his already ruined shirt.
"I need every damn cent you took from Bella," I said, my voice steady, cold, and unwavering.
