Chapter 12 - Chapter 12: The Team (Fixed)

I had a problem with my computer, so now I'll be spending a little more time writing the fics.

I just wanted to mention that and that I'll go into more detail about fixing the glitches and inconsistencies that occur. I have a theory that this happened when I translated the writing page that's in English and then back to English. That changes some words, but I'll work on fixing those things over the weekend.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The dawn of a new day: the sun is shining, the roosters are crowing, and I have a smelly paw near my face, while I listen to snoring from the other side of the world.

Interestingly, it was Trinity who was snoring; when we were on the boat, she wasn't. That meant she wasn't asleep or that her sleep was very shallow. But it shows that now she's completely confident and at peace. Although it's annoying, it's not so bad.

I settled into the bed I was in, and with a thump, I knocked Arthur's paw from my face to Trinity's.

That woke them both up.

Trinity: "What the hell is wrong with you, idiot?" Her vocabulary is very clean.

Arthur: "Where am I? It's time for work," he says with a confused expression, as if he didn't understand what was happening around him. I can see that when he wakes up, he's half-witted; perhaps that information will be useful in the future.

Dante: "Where's Hunter? Did he stay on the island?" I said to Trinity.

Trinity: "No, here he is." At that moment, she opened a rather large bag, and I looked inside.

Sure enough, Hunter was there, and he quickly got out of the bag, making crow-like sounds as if he were dissatisfied.

Trinity: "You know why he's like that."

Dante: "What's happening is, he says he's hungry and thirsty."

Trinity: "Really? Do you know how to talk to crows?"

Dante: "No," I said curtly. Trinity stared at me as if offended, then returned to normal.

Trinity: "So you don't know how to talk to crows."

Dante: "It's not quite like that. I can't talk to them; I don't have that ability yet, but I can understand them to a certain extent; it's more like communication, not conversation." "Technically, she understands me, but I don't, at least not 100%." After saying that, I extend my arm so she can rest there.

After Hunter does exactly what I want, I leave the room.

Dante: "Come on, Hunter, go find some food and water. You must be hungry and thirsty or something. I need to find out if you're a man or a woman."

Hunter makes happy crow sounds.

Before leaving, I decide to look behind me.

Dante: "I have an offer for you two; you should have an idea of what it is by now, so let's meet right here at 8 p.m." After saying that, I went off to find a restaurant or something similar.

I went through the cities of Water 7; as far as I remember, this place is inspired by a place in Italy, if I'm not mistaken.

In the end, we had to go to a bar, because of Hunter, for hygiene reasons and not bothering customers, among other silly things.

When I'm famous, they're the ones who will be begging me to visit their businesses.

But grudges aside, we were able to eat enough at the bar; money wasn't a big issue at the time. Not to mention that I still have the gems safely stored away.

While we ate, I checked out the system shop. I discovered that there are blueprints for designing weapons, structures, ships, etc. Also, if you manage to recreate the artifact with the blueprint, it's registered as acquired by the system, but you won't be able to enter it into the system storage, kind of like what happens with the Buster Sword or Death Sword.

It's incredible how I discover these curiosities about the shop, given that I have a system that should help or guide me with these things, but when I ask it anything, it says: [Read carefully] or [Read what it says carefully]; it needs to ask me for a tip.

Even with all this, I'm planning on building a weapon that will help with my temporary lack of Haki. Maybe with Haki, I can still use it, but that's if everything goes as planned.

After leaving the bar, I decided to explore the place, all accompanied by Hunter on my shoulder.

Doing some research, I learned that Tom has already been sentenced to make the train crossing the seas, so if I want to help him, I still have time.

Looking at the characters' ages, when Tom is taken to Ennie's Lobby, I'll be 28, I think, so there's still time, if my family doesn't capture me first.

In the end, I wandered around the city a few times and returned to the room we were in at 5:50.

When I entered, Arthur was alone, staring out the window. The moment I entered, he looked at me and walked toward me.

Before he reached me, I looked at Hunter.

Dante: "Go find more precious stones, but not by stealing, just things that are lying on the ground or somewhere." On second thought, yes, you can steal, but only from pirates; now fly."

Hunter spread his wings and flew off my shoulder to somewhere.

Arthur: "Hey, Dante, I want to talk to you."

Dante: "I'm listening," I said as I sat down in an armchair nearby.

Arthur: "I wanted to thank you for avenging my people and helping me, both in carrying out that revenge and in getting me out of there, since without you I might never have left the island, dying one way or another," the voice intoned before continuing, "what I want to say is that you helped me, so as payment for what you did, I will also help you, since right now I don't know what to do. Bottom line, I'm also joining your team to do what you're going to do."

Dante: "So you don't know what we're going to do, but you're still joining."

Arthur: "Exactly."

I stand up, walk over to him, and put my arm around his shoulder.

Dante: "Okay, welcome to the team. Now it's two of us, you and me against the world."

Arthur stares at me, confused.

Arthur: "Weren't you, Trinity, and Ruminoff?"

Dante: "Nope, are you all wrong?"

Arthur started complaining about life and all that; I didn't really notice him. With this, I can say that half the plan is done.

The rest of the time we spent talking about training methods and how to get stronger. I was able to convince him to turn Arthur into a warrior, or, as I call it, to make him sound like a knight, although there's no such thing as a knight.

While we were talking, Hunter returned with 2,000 berries and a topaz necklace.

Long live money.

Later, when it was already 7:50 p.m., Trinity and Ruminoff arrived.

Trinity: "I see you're already making plans for your sect."

Dante: "Yes, in fact, we're going to invoke a god to give us infinite power and wisdom in exchange for an eye and hang ourselves from a tree," I said sarcastically.

Trinity: "What a sick man would do something like that."

A sick man would do something like that, right? That's true. I can tell you that Odin isn't right in the head, not at the beginning, not at the end, and not with any adaptations they make.

Ruminoff: "Well, never mind, let's talk about the matter you're talking about," he says as he sits down. The rest of us sit down as well.

Ruminoff: "First of all, I know where you and your little group of adventurers are going, and let me tell you that, at least for my part, I can't go, since I'm already old and want to continue my life as a fisherman on the island where we live."

That's good, since I wasn't planning on inviting him, in fact, for the reason he mentions, that he's already old. Besides, it would take away my leadership from me one way or another.

Ruminoff: "But here's someone I'm offering to join you on your adventures," he says, pointing to Trinity. "We talked all day about what we were going to do, and I managed to convince her to join you, since it would be good for her to be stronger and surrounded by good friends." Then she leans closer to me and whispers, "Besides, with her out of the way, I can get a girlfriend or two."

Funnily enough, we all heard them.

Trinity: "Old fart, so that was the reason you wanted me to go with them."

Ruminoff: "The reason doesn't matter anymore, since you made a promise with me and you can't break it."

What was that promise? If I knew it, it would be easier to blackmail her in the future.

After they argued for a while, we returned to the main topic.

Trinity: "It doesn't matter anymore. The thing is, I joined their sect. I just hope that god does give infinite wisdom." She extends her hand. "I'm Trinity, but you can call me Trini."

Dante: "Nice to meet you," I said as I greeted him back.

He then greeted Arthur as well, but it's a minor matter.

Ruminoff also asked me for tomorrow so he could be with his daughter before the trip. I accepted, since he needs time to find a ship that could take us where I want to go.

And where is that? Well, it's Alabasta. And there's a reason for that, and that is that I need to buy some things from the system store, since some of them are for them; it would be strange if I got these things out of nowhere.

It will also help train their skills there, since I need them to be at a certain level if I want to defeat more important people in the future.
