"Would you like to dance?" asked Nathan.
I grabbed his wrist and looked at his watch. We had two hours before the dinner started.
I saw Fiona and her flying monkeys headed in our direction, clutching flutes of champagne. Dare I think she added something to either Nathan's champagne or mine?
I grabbed Nathan's hand and dragged him across the ballroom. I looked back to make sure Fiona saw us leave by the back exit doors.
My hope is that she would try to find us there, and wouldn't. Then she would have to figure out where we went ... and by that time, Seduce Nathan would be in progress.
"Where are we going?"
"Your hotel suite."
"What? Why?"
We went down a flight of stairs and through a door that led to the hotel's office. A clerk pouring herself coffee looked up in surprise.
"We were never here," I said. I tugged on Nathan's fingers. "Hurry."
