"Mama, wake up~ Mama, wake up~ Mama~"
Yamato and Kohaku sat kneeling by Tsunade's bedside, gently nudging her as they called out in soft voices.
Maybe it was a child's intuition—or just basic human instinct—but their voices were full of tenderness and attachment.
That kind of sweet, innocent tone that could melt anyone's heart.
Haunted by nightmares, Tsunade suddenly sat upright in bed, eyes wide with fear.
"I… I must still be dreaming!"
She blinked, staring at the two children for three whole seconds before shutting her eyes again and flopping back down onto the bed with a thud.
The chakra seal on her forehead pulsed faintly, scanning the room with chakra waves, testing to see if this was some kind of genjutsu.
Five seconds later, she took a long, deep breath.
By now, she had figured out who these two kids were… and had a pretty good idea of why they were here.
But—
Why were they calling her Mama?
They were the victims of the Wood Release experiments. Sure, thanks to her grandfather's cells, they technically shared some bloodline ties with her…
But that didn't make this dynamic any less awkward!
Was this just another one of Yamanaka Shinno's twisted jokes?
No, no, no!
That guy was a total menace, yeah—but he usually only messed with people when it was convenient. He rarely went out of his way to pull a prank this elaborate.
No matter how she looked at it… this felt like trouble.
She opened her eyes again and sat up.
Looking at the confused and uneasy expressions on Kohaku and Yamato's faces, Tsunade forced down the urge to punch Shinno into next week.
Putting on a gentle smile, she reached out and patted the kids on their heads.
Kohaku had long, pale blonde hair just like her.
She flinched slightly at first, but as Tsunade's hand rested on her head, warmth seeped into her small frame, and she gave a shy, sweet smile.
Yamato had a soft, delicate face—not all that different from Kohaku's, honestly.
When he saw her hand reaching out, he leaned in a little closer, making it easier for her to pat him.
"Mama~"
Kohaku whispered, her voice trembling with hesitation.
A vein throbbed visibly on Tsunade's forehead.
Just like that, she'd become a mother.
Yamanaka Shinno, you absolute bastard.
"Mm… you two be good and wait right here, okay? I'll take you out for something yummy in a bit."
Tsunade's smile was stiff as she gave each child a little pat on the head.
Once they both nodded obediently, she turned and walked out of the bedroom in her pajamas, her steps as stiff as her smile.
...
"Hey Kushina, if someone in the village said Kohaku and Yamato were Tsunade's kids, do you think people would believe it?"
Shinno's voice was dripping with mischief.
"Heehee~ Probably! Especially Kohaku—her hair's exactly the same color as Tsunade's!"
Kushina giggled, doing her best to play along with her troublemaking boyfriend.
"What about if Tsunade actually became Hokage? Think people would still talk like that?"
"No way! One gag order from the Hokage, and nobody would dare gossip. Plus, if Tsunade made those old experiments public, Danzo would be in so much trouble."
"Makes sense. I just wonder if she'd actually agree to become Hokage."
The implication in Shinno's voice was anything but subtle.
"Hokage? Not even dogs would want that job!"
Tsunade's furious shout rang out.
She had clearly figured out what Shinno was trying to do.
Chakra gathered around her clenched fists as she charged out—barefoot and fuming!
...
"Kushina, take care of the two kids. I need to have a little chat with Tsunade."
The moment Shinno finished speaking, he sidestepped her flying punch, grabbed her waist, and teleported away with Flying Thunder God.
BOOM—
A deafening explosion rocked the ground outside the northwest training cavern of Konoha.
"You bastard!"
Tsunade had a death grip on Shinno's right hand.
Her feet cracked the ground beneath her, spiderweb fractures spreading in all directions as she pulled him toward her.
Her knee snapped up in a devastating strike aimed straight for the most vulnerable spot.
"Oh hell no?! (゜Д゜;)"
In the blink of an eye, Shinno's right arm turned to water and slipped out of her grasp.
Using the [Zero-Frame Startup], he dodged back a few paces—just barely avoiding the kind of blow that would send any man into a full-blown panic.
Sure, the Hydrification Technique could theoretically negate that kind of damage…
But what kind of man wants to get hit down there, even if it's "technically" fine?
BOOM—WHOOSH—
Tsunade's knee strike missed, but she stomped down hard, shattering the earth and launching herself forward with explosive momentum.
Her hand shot straight for Shinno's lower half again.
"Sis, seriously?! Every single move aimed there?!"
Shinno twisted his hips and met her incoming punch with a high roundhouse kick.
THUD—
Their limbs clashed with a dull thump, followed by a sudden burst of thick white smoke.
"You're done."
Tsunade's tight-lipped expression twisted into a wicked grin.
She lifted her left hand and bit off the crimson nail decal from her index finger, crunching it between her teeth and swallowing it.
"Where's the trust, huh? You sleep in my house and still booby-trap your body with poison, while hiding the antidote in a nail sticker? Who the hell are you trying to guard against?! Didn't we agree to let things go?"
Shinno smacked his body all over with a flurry of glowing sage chakra slaps.
Enhanced by [Yin-Yang Sage]—he flushed the toxins out of his system like they were dust on his clothes.
He had so many things he wanted to say right now.
This whole thing had clearly been premeditated!
She'd been planning to pick a fight all along!
What a petty woman!
...
"You started it, remember?! Hahaha! But seriously—give it up. Don't you feel your limbs going numb? Body overheating? Heart racing, short of breath? You really think I earned the title of Konoha's top medical ninja for nothing? Hahaha!"
Tsunade stood hands on hips, laughing triumphantly.
Sure, she hadn't managed to recreate Shinno's bizarre "high" from his medical jutsu…
But that was fine. She had other methods—and plenty of muscle.
If a jutsu couldn't do the job, then she'd just drug him the old-fashioned way!
She'd spent three full days brewing that formula in Konoha Hospital. Potent, fast-acting, colorless, tasteless, nearly impossible to detect.
Forget Konoha—there wasn't a soul in the entire ninja world who could crack that formula in three days!
No matter how strong Shinno was…
It's not like he could just slap the drugs out of his body—wait…
...
"Sis… you're not worried I might just take you right here and now?"
Shinno's breathing grew heavier, his eyes slowly roaming up and down her figure.
"Guh..."
Tsunade's smug grin vanished.
She looked around at the secluded, empty training ground—
—and bolted back toward Konoha.
Damn it!
Total miscalculation!
She'd been so focused on payback, she hadn't even noticed where he'd teleported them!
"HAHAHAHA—"
Shinno watched her flee, laughing so hard his cheeks hurt.
Tsunade's expression shifted rapidly as she heard his strong, clear laughter behind her—no signs of drug effects at all.
When she realized he hadn't followed her, her eyes narrowed.
She'd been played!
Furious, she spun around with a mix of shame and rage.
"Why didn't the drug work?! I opened the vial the moment we started fighting—even if you didn't inhale the smoke, just breathing during our scuffle should've been enough!"
"Would you tell Chiyo from Sunagakure your trump card?"
"...Just name your price."
"Be Hokage."
"I already told you—not even a dog would take that job!"
"Come on, Little Tsunade~ If you say that, Grandpa'll be heartbroken…"
Hashirama Senju's ghostly form rose from Shinno's shoulder, face covered in dark lines.
"Grandpa! He threatened me first, that's why I said that!"
Tsunade gritted her teeth, glaring daggers at Shinno.
This bastard had pulled her grandfather's soul out of the Pure Land again!
"So you do want to be Hokage! Haha, I knew it! No way Little Tsunade wouldn't want the job! You're just overthinking it, son-in-law."
Hashirama laughed, scratching his head like it was nothing.
"...!!!"
Tsunade froze.
Did… did her own grandfather just team up with Shinno to mess with her?!
Whose grandfather was this, exactly?!
"Little Tsunade, I took a look at those two kids earlier. They're both good ones. Of course, I hope you and your son-in-law have a few more yourselves… but in the meantime, maybe just adopt th—"
"Grandpa! Stop spouting nonsense! He's not your son-in-law!"
"Er… mixed that up! Haha… Son-in-law, mind if I have a quick word with my granddaughter?"
Hashirama floated away from Shinno and beckoned Tsunade to follow him toward the pavilion in the lake at the center of the training grounds.
Tsunade shot Shinno a death glare, held it for three full seconds, then followed her grandfather, grinding her teeth the whole way.
"What're you staring at?"
Shinno muttered under his breath, keeping a careful eye on the [Borrowed Account Login] trait as it approached maximum range.
He took a couple steps toward the lake, picked up a stone, and started skipping it across the water.
...
About ten minutes later—
A system notification suddenly echoed in his mind.
Ding—Major alteration to key character fate detected. Worldline development has shifted significantly. Reward: Trait Duplication ×1, Trait Removal ×1, Trait Gift ×1, Trait Reset ×1.
Ding—Original worldline nearing collapse due to repeated major disruptions. Full collapse and reconstruction imminent. Large rewards granted.
"...Near collapse? Large rewards?"
Shinno's eyes narrowed as he stared at the string of notifications.
Tsunade's altered fate and the resulting shift in the worldline—that much he had expected.
After all, he was planning to push her into the Hokage seat.
Once she replaced Hiruzen, she'd be negotiating directly with Iwagakure and Sunagakure to finalize the unification of the villages.
That was a major change—no question.
But the worldline collapsing entirely?
Sure, the rewards were tempting… but if the original timeline shattered and reset...
Wouldn't that mean losing all the advantages of being a transmigrator?
