The teacher, clearly annoyed, ended the class to avoid further humiliation. William, without waiting, left the room and headed for the infirmary. He wanted to see how Lía was doing after the attack.
The infirmary was as empty as before, and the medical staff were chatting among themselves. A faint light came from small crystals, making the room feel calm. William quietly walked through the door into the room where he had left Lía.
Inside, he saw Lía sleeping on one of the beds. Her face was still swollen and pale, and her breathing was uneven. He approached slowly and sat beside her. His hand trembled for a moment before he placed his fingers over hers.
"I'm here..." he whispered as he sat down. Despite Lía's awful appearance, William didn't look away. Instead, he made sure to remember how she looked to ensure everyone involved would pay for what they did.
