Henry sat quietly on the couch in the dimly lit living room, the late afternoon sun casting long shadows across the floor. The ticking clock on the wall reminded him how many hours had passed in silence. He hadn't touched his laptop in days. His health had taken a toll on him recently—persistent headaches, exhaustion, and random spells of dizziness kept him from doing much of anything productive. His doctors had warned him to take it easy, and he tried, but today, something pulled at him—an urge he couldn't explain. Maybe it was intuition. Or maybe it was guilt over how much he was falling behind at work.
