Sophie was momentarily stunned, then she acted as if nothing had happened and walked into the room.
She took off her coat, changed into a pair of comfortable shoes, and sat down on the sofa.
Asher Land's tall figure was pressed close to hers, making Sophie feel somewhat cramped, so she moved aside.
Seeing her resist him, Asher Land naturally felt displeased.
"Looks like I truly made a mistake today," he cleared his throat, "I should have brought Anna home."
"Isn't it a bit late to say that now?" Sophie sneered, "Oh, or maybe you can call her right now to keep you company, I'll leave immediately."
"You..." Asher clenched his fist, but his expression was exceptionally calm, and then his lips curled into a charming arc, "I'll call her right away."
Asher took out his phone and looked through his contacts, but, damn it, there were only a few simple contacts: Robert Williams, the secretary, and her.
He finally dialed the secretary's number.
